I eat here for lunch on a cold rainy November afternoon. The atmosphere was was so diner I could taste it in the air. Creole Mac & Cheese is now the reason I continue to live in these depressing times. Thank God for Creole Mac & Cheese and Thank America for Lexington Diner.
This place could not be any better! Super friendly staff, great menu, amazing specials, excellent quality ingredients and reasonably priced to boot. I have never had a bad experience here and their produce is always fresh unlike some other lunch places downtown who have served me brown and wilting lettuce/veggies (I’m looking at you Sawyer’s and Main Street deli!).Owners who let their staff off on Labor Day and also frequently donate to local charities only make me want to spend my money here more.Check it out, get the Handbasket burger, you won’t be disappointed!
Not exactly hidden and not really a gem. Not even close to top end on shrimp and grits. It was more assembled than created. Was very busy on a farmer’s market Saturday and service was quick
Excellent breakfast – eggs cooked exactly to my specifications- bacon extra crispy – pleasant and prompt service – clean facility (including the restroom).
Fantastic, fresh, and fired up!. I’ve had many a breakfast here, at this perfect downtown location next to the old courthouse. They are really oriented toward freshness and using local produce. If you go for lunch, you must try the banh mi sandwich. The setting is cozy, informal, bright and inviting. The owner and operator, an up-and-coming celebrity chef, insures gourmet dining on a budget price, and has already received kudos from Alton Brown. A must if you’re just passing through, a home away from home if you’re a local.
Good pick on a surprise Sunday visit. The food was good.
The best food in the bluegrass!. I love the food at the Lexington Diner so much that I eat there every time I am nearby. The garden omelette is my favorite breakfast dish and the daily specials are fantastic. I am borderline diabetic so I can’t order the decadent french toast brunch selections on the menu, but I’ve heard from others that they are awesome. The owners & staff at the Lexington Diner are very friendly and efficient. They make each dining experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend this friendly downtown diner. Once you have eaten there, you will want to return often.
