A nice bar downtown that serves some really good pizza. I haven’t been when there is live music but nice setting and a good place to stop in for a meal & drinks. Bar offers a terrific bourbon selection and all the food I’ve had on multiple visits has been well prepared and tasty.
Wedge salad: like every other wedge salad, except it was half a head of lettuce. It was good, just to big. French dip: this was bad. Deli roast beef, cut way to thick for this application. Would have been better shaved, heated in the au jus, not heated by running it through the pizza oven. Hot brown pizza: nice flavor, a bit to dry. The crust is weak, you can tell its a frozen product. The vegetarian sandwich: this was the hit of the night. Great flavors. Very good hummus. Served on ciabatta bread. A really nice surprise.
Pushing Food Now. When I went to Parlay when it first opened, I enjoyed the relaxing and peaceful atmoshere. The last couple of times I have visited, the server has constantly shoved a menu in my face. I just wanted a drink, but to appease her, I placed a food order. It was typical Downtown bar food. Over priced and unmemeorable. However, after I received my order, she majically disappeared. I finally flagged her down to get my tab and get the hell out. I know they make more money off of their food, but it is allright if someone just wants a drink?
