Where was this place when I was a college student??. This is a college student’s dream. Good food, quick, near (or on) campus, and cheap. It reminds me of a mall food court setup. Limited selection of typical favorites. You have the choice of three different main sides, steamed rice, fried rice and lo mien. There are usually eight main dishes to choose from and three appetizers and sweet rolls. You can mix and match any or all of these items, here is the catch, EVERYTHING IS $1 per scoop. Yes, I said $1 per scoop. You can eat as little or as much for $1 a scoop. And the scoops aren’t tiny either. For the price of a typical restaurant meal other places, I had fried rice, beef and broccoli and bang bang chicken with crab Rangoon and a drink. The rice was good, if a little bland. The beef was tender and not over taken with excessive amounts of broccoli. The bang bang chicken was not as spicy as I was expecting, but still really good. The crab Rangoon was typical of a Chinese takeout place. Overall the service was good, the food was better than expected and the price was great. We will be back….often.
Let Me Remind You. You are paying $1 for a scoop of food. This is food I primarily eat either because I’m cheap, or I’m drunk. It’s not going to be high quality food, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s perfect for cheap takeout Chinese. I get my food and check out fast, I can eat at my leisure, and not spend $20+ on regular takeout.
The worst!
Feed a family of 4 under $20 and it’s super-yummy!!We love this place! Tastes great and economical. My only wish is that they would offer at least one all white meat dish.
Pretty awesome. Some of the best Chinese I’ve had.
Red Bang Bang is the BEST place for broke college kids to get food! For every scoop of food you get there, it cost a dollar which in my opinion is a great deal! The scoop of food is a decent amount so you could either as a snack or a FULL MEAL!!! My favorite food at Red Bang Bang would have to be the Spicy Tofu mixed with White Rice. Since I know most people don’t like tofu, I recommend the Sesame Chicken for the general public. In my opinion, it is the best food to get there. Best cheap Chinese food to get in Lexington hands down!
Horrid. Nasty.
