Best Onions, Worst Mushrooms. Ordered delivery lunch from West New Circle RdThe mushrooms of the Royal Feast dominated every bite. It could be that I’m allergic to oily, slimy mushrooms out of a can; but when I reheated some the next night, I had to pick them all out.The night before, I had the best delivery I’ve had in years: a pep sausage with a little shredded store bought parm. But I wanted to try a mix of meat and veggie, so I got the big pizza with the widest variety of ingredients. I hated the mushrooms, but the onions are the best I’ve had on a delivery pizza. They came in giant, fleshy chunks that reveal how pointless tiny, minced up onions are. These were the size you find in good homemade spaghetti. I won’t ever order a pizza without onions from them again.The peppers were more or less absent. I think I caught a glimpse of a tiny piece of red pepper (with my eye), but got no pepper flavor in the pizza here. Really a major strike, since it advertises red and green pepper. (Where are they?) But no faults on the meat. After eating the leftovers with the mushrooms gone, I understood what makes Sir Pizza great: the meats, especially the pepperoni, being spicy and plentiful.The sauce is tangy and sweet from a can, so nothing new here. The meat, bread, and cheese hold down the fort; while the onions are a nice surprise. Speaking of the bread, it’s a good medium thickness that has a good crunch to it. In case you don’t know, there isn’t really any crust. Kind of similar to Donato’s pizza, if you’ve ever had that, but much thicker.Think as if you are ordering a huge Tontino’s pizza that’s about 101 more satisfying and a better deal. Toninos pizzas are cheap, but hardly filling. The Sir Pizza I ordered from sold an extra large for the same price as a large. It was $22 and I left a $5 tip. I ate two dinners and have enough for lunch tomorrow, so not bad. I will definitely order from them again now that I know what I like and won’t have to pick mushrooms off.
