I’ve eating lunch here more than any other restaurant in Lexington. Their lunch specials are an unreal value. So much food and soosh for like $7.99. The staff might be my favorite part they are excellent and always put up with our antics.
Terrific Japanese spot. GREAT Udon noodle dishes. A full menu of options: appetizers, sushi, hibachi, noodles. Japanese beers on tap. Everything tasted great and was reasonably priced. We’ll be back soon!
An authentic experience with traditional, well-executed Japanese fare; although the decor might be somewhat dated, that does not matter once you taste the food. I am extremely happy to have such an impressive Japanese restaurant on this side of town, having frequented it 5 times already. On our first visit, my wife ordered the Yakitori Set (skewered glazed chicken and shrimp, both of which were very fresh, and beef wrapped scallions/green onions) for an appetizer. For my entree, I ordered a fried shrimp roll, a Philadelphia roll, and a crunchy roll; my wife ordered the shrimp tempura (fresh shrimp; perfect breading not greasy, and not too thick). More recently, I have ordered the Beef Yakiniku and the Chicken Teriyaki for lunch, which did not disappoint.
I live 2 miles from here and get take out on occasion. Tonight I was told they are to busy to take my order. Probably last time I order from them. I’m always busy and I still have time to go there and eat so that’s a pretty sorry reason to tell me that,
An older sushi restaurant that was popular 25 years ago.It use to be really good but Ive heard they use Farm Raised(toxic & pesticide laden) seafood in some or all of their dishes. The last sushi I had there tasted no better than the Kroger Sushi Counter. And the prices are astronomical. The clientel is old.The waitress we had was a rude older short Chinese woman. The place needs a younger vibe with sexy younger waitresses and fresh natural seafood.02 Mar, 2014Ive had nothing but exceptional Japanese food from this little hidden pearl.I recently had OYSTERS that were dredged in flour then egg then panko crumbs-better than any Ive tasted on Cape Cod or in Europe. The sauce was a little fuity/salty for my taste I would have preferred a wasabi mayonnaise dipping sauce & Im sure the Chef de Cuisine would have concocted one for me if I had asked! Service was amazing. This is by far the best Japanese restaurant in Kentucky I prefer their food to many other local established KY restaurants. They seem to have an obsession with the highest quality ingredients.Trust me Im leary to try seafood at many inland restaurants & their seafood is so fresh.Keep up the good work guys Its terrific what you guys do.
Food is not up to expected level. I been trying out other Japanese restaurants, and I would definitely go to other Japanese restaurants such as Hananoki or tomo. Service, food, atmosphere were not matched compared to other Japanese restaurants.
No takeout. I work nearby and I originally ordered takeout from Lunch menu, it was reasonably priced and good. The next day (today) they told me they no-longer take orders for the lunch menu, I would have to eat-in. Really? Are they going to miss out on a tip or drink order? Most working people do not have time to sit in a restaurant for lunch; they definitely do not cater to locals.
