Such a great mom and pop place. Stopped in last week, and I was greeted quickly by friendly staff. Food was served hot and fresh. I love the crispness of the ketch fingers. Their tarter sauce is like none you have ever tasted. My husband ordered the fish tacos, it comes with gauc and baja sauce. The gauc is so authentic and the baja had just enough kick. The hush puppies are the closest I have found to the South Carolina style. And they will bring you honey butter if you ask. They have a huge bar crowd and the drinks are pretty stiff. Try the crab dip app- it is also heavenly.
1/2lb Peel and Eat Shrimp. Covered in black spots and rotten26 Oct, 2014Served rotten food. Used to eat here often but not anymore. served rotten shrimp covered in black spots!
Decided to eat here on the spur of moment. Stopped in for no other reason than my wife and I were hungry for seafood and this place was close to where we were. I have to say, after reading some of the less than positive reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast, the food was hot and good and there was a lot of it. My wife ordered a crab bucket with hush puppies and carrots. I ordered the Cajun sampler which was Cajun shrimp, catfish and gumbo. I also got hush puppies and cabbage. Needless to say we wasn’t able to eat everything! The food was great, the atmosphere was nice (its a local place and was pretty quiet, and all together our bill was roughly 50.00 after tip. This is a definitely a place we will be visiting again.
Great Seafood Platter. If you like a great fried seafood platter the Ketch is the best in Lexington. Fish, Shrimp, Clams and I have them substitute oysters for the crab cake. Add hush puppies and you have a killer platter. Not the thing you want to eat to often (it is fried) but it is great on occasion. Monday Happy Hour $7.99 for a dozen oysters on the half shell is the best oyster deal in Lexington. Fresh and good. Drinks are well priced and the bartenders have been there for decades. If you want a spic and span chain restaurant this is not for you but if you appreciate a great hole in the wall with personality try the Ketch! Other than the peel and eat shrimp (great) I can’t comment on the rest of the menu because I always get the same thing!
Brunch at Ketch is a breakfast list on the back of the menu The food was a 6 out of 10The serves was a 2 out of 1010-12 people working in the place most of the time 4-6 people setting at the bar just taking not workingIf you want average food and poor serves this is the place for you Old dated fixtures Too many places to spend my money I’ll not be back
Just had my second disappointing meal at the Ketch tonight and I’ve only eaten there four times, tops! The service was very slow – even had to ask for a drink refill. The zucchini casserole was tasteless and mashed potatoes were luke warm at best . Both were specials for the evening. The shrimp and crab cake on the broiled platter were good but the white fish was watery and tasteless. I also question whether any of it was broiled. These people need to start tasting what they cook and at least one waitress needs some training – and she’s not new!
