I cant say enough about my experience at The Village Idiot! The drink menu is extensive, rivaling any establishment of its type known to me, and Ive been all over the country multiple times. Most places limit their variety to beers however The Village Idiot does it big with wine and their mixed drinks as well. As your typical lightweight, girl drink drinker, I will advise those of similar inability of metabolize alcohol to use caution with the mixed drink menu and the carefully examine the alcohol content of the beers they have available.And the food was fantastic! Added chicken to the West Indian Plantain Curry and it was so very delicious. My friend added jumbo shrimp and hers looked even better. As a rule, I refuse to have a meal without meat, which is why I added the chicken, but I have to admit that our lovely, friendly, attentive, and charming waitress, Brie, like the cheese, was spot on when she said the dish is fantastic without the meat.My boyfriend got the Pulled Pork Mac n Cheese and are it so fast that I didnt have the opportunity to ask for a bite lol. It looked delicious though and based on the speed with which he devoured it, Id say it was pretty damn good. We also had the mussels and they were amazing as well.I love this place!
Great meal here! The food was different with a real flair. We loved it, especially the duck and waffles. Two of us got the scallops and both were pleased, although with the grits having chorizo, I really thought they should have been spicier. And the cheese platter is a bit on the slim side. My husband’s rabbit and pasta was more pasta than rabbit, but well prepared. Phenomenal selection of beers as well. Interesting decor and building. Well worth visiting.
