BBQ To-Go. They had my order ready on-time. 1 lb. of Pork, 1 lb. of Chicken, Mac & Cheese, and Cole Slaw! Everything was amazing and we all loved it! I’ve also had their brisket which is outstanding too.
The Rules are too stiff, IMO. A few months ago, after hearing about Wagon Bones from a flyer at West Sixth Brewing, I found a Groupon to try the trendy new BBQ joint. I was excited about it, an bought a Groupon to try the BBQ. I first went there intending to get a sandwich and take it to West Sixth to enjoy with a brew, but I was told that the Groupon was for dine-in only, so I decided to just grab a bite from the taco truck at West Sixth. Anytime I have been in the mood for BBQ, I have not wanted to sit and eat on the premises, and finally the other night, after the double value of the Groupone had expired (it HAD BEEN a $14. value, now worth only $7. ) I took the Groupon in and ordered a sandwich to go, and was told that STILL EVEN THOUGH THE GROUPON HAS LOST THE COUPON VALUE, I AM NOT ALLOWED TO GET FOOD TO GO!! I am poor as all get-out, and can’t afford to throw money away, so I will probably go sit in and get something with the Groupon since I’ve spent the money, but I won’t go back again unless it’s darn good.I understand that they’re trying to get eat-in bussiness built, but when I am toled that I won’t be allowed to take my food out because I’m using a Groupon that HAS ALERADY EXPIRED FOR THE DOUBLE VALUE, that is extreme ruliness!! If a person has alerady lost the bonus they bought the Groupon for, then at lest loosen up a little. I want to enjoy my food somewhere besides wher there’s a TV running, and that has a good brew- or to be able to take it home where I can enjoy it!! Don’t try to force your customers to do what you want them to do. It’s your job to make it more inviting- especially under these circumstances.
Nothing special. I am a BBQ fan so I decided while in that area to stop by.. I ordered the lunch special pulled pork sandwich and fries with a side of baked beans..The side of baked beans was tiny.. When I say tiny i mean tiny.. The sandwich was basically microwaved store bought pulled pork like you buy in the tub at kroger.. Glad it was only $6For a great pulled pork sandwich go to Billy’s Bbq
Brisket sandwich come with chips for $8 or 2 sides for $12. The baked beans were great. I chose coleslaw as my second side and immediately regretted it when I saw it. Unfortunately it didn’t taste any better than it looked. It was very bland. The brisket was very good. The sauce is a very thin sauce. I would have preferred the sauce on the side instead of already added to my sandwich, but they did not put too much on it. I was still able to taste the meat. The place is small, approx. 30 people capacity. Music and tvs create enough of a background noise that you aren’t inadvertently eavesdropping on the table next to you.I would definitely try it again and get the greens or mac & cheese instead if the slaw.
BBQ was forgettable. Had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw chips and a side of Mac n cheese. Food was not bad but not good enough to make me want to return.
Excellent food. A bit pricy for families with kids like myself but the best barbecue and sides in town! We had the ribs and brisket.
Really Good Sandwich & Staff. I just visited Lexington this weekend and while driving by noticed Wagon Bones Grill. My fiancee and I tried the chicken and brisket sandwiches. Both were good. I had the brisket and it was exceptional. It was very tender and the sauce was good. My only real critique would be that th sandwich could have been larger. Never the less, it was a great sandwich. As a real beef lover if I’m ever in Lexington again, I’ll be visiting Wagon Bones. By the way, they also have an outstanding chowder. They offered a sample which was really good.
