Delish sandwitches! #6 is the bomb
Perfect!. This place is a great combination of an European local market and an American deli! This hidden gem is great for the local community and has great prices on speciality items like local produce, cheeses, deli items, and breads. The wine section isn’t terrible either. You can buy a bottle of wine and drink it on their little outside tables with your fresh made deli sandwiches. They have free Friday wine tastings from all over the world and the ladies that work there are very knowedgable about everything in the store! It’s a great place to walk to on a sunny Saturday afternoon to get some amazing cheeses and a great bottle of wine!
The most amazing deli!. The sandwiches here are the most delicious and fresh I have ever had in Lexington. Granted, the cost reflects the quality but it is well worth it. I’ve also tried some of the pastry, cookies and brownies and they have all been amazing. The pate (made in-house with local ingredients) sandwich is my personal favorite and highly recommended.
Late Saturday lunch. The wife and I saw an article in a local magazine talking about Wine + Market so we had to give it a go. We are so glad we did. It’s basically a small deli with an attached wine room. They have salads, sandwiches and cheeses to select from. Also; fresh garden herbs, things of that nature. My wife started with a small salad and then we split a nice slice of goat cheese and a slice of manchego (my favorite cheese). We had a sandwich with tomato, thin sliced ham, and mozzarella on cibata bread. It was very good, we took half home and warmed it up Sunday in the toaster over, think I liked it warmed even more. We also had a sandwich with thick sliced ham and swiss cheese with a fig spread on lightly grilled bread. It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in forever. Also had a nice bottle of 07′ red zin to wash it all down, made for a great Saturday outing. Don’t go expecting a fancy place, its tables and stools in the middle of the room but the food is worth the visit. The wine room, while small, had a nice collection of wines that you won’t find in a liquor barn. Prices were reasonable, less than 10 bucks per sandwich. The cheeses are a little pricy but well worth it for the quality. You won’t find these cheeses at the local grocery store.
Refreshing Change. A nice change from the ordinary sandwich. The variety is worth the trip if you don’t normally frequent downtown Lexington. If they are busy it could take a little while, but that’s good because it’s made to order and to your specs. Gives you time to look at their wine and numerous local Kentucky Proud products.
Wonderful Lunch Place. Unique and wonderful sandwiches and a great selection of meats and cheese to take home. The country pate is yummy. I definately want to try to make it down to a Friday night dinner too!
Unusual find in Lexington. Cute little neighborhood spot. More of a grocery / deli than a restaurant, but a nice find. Yummy, unique sandwiches, and an interesting, albeit pricey, selection of meats, cheeses, and artisanal products. Owner is rather quiet and not outgoing over our 3 visits (even when we’ve tried to speak French to him). Overall, we like Le Matin better, but W&M is a welcome addition to Lexington.
