One of my all time favorite foods is Pho Tai. And I recently found this funky little place just down the road from my new home. And the Pho is pho-king awesome. On top of that the Banh Mi is the hands down best I’ve ever had, anywhere. The fresh bun and fresh, not sweet pickled, veggies made it a taste treat I can hardly wait to try again. The service was fast and friendly, if a bit fast talking for my slow southern ears. The place is roomy, filled with family and friends that all seem to know each other. On the evening I visited the music from the establishment next door was a bit too loud, but no worse than the Ranchero music at my favorite Mexican place. In summary there are only two reasons I’m not giving this place a rating of 5. The first is that it is obviously oriented toward a Viet Namese customer base. Which is fine. And if you are Viet Namese consider my rating a 5. But if you are not familiar with this wonderful cuisine, this place might seem a bit intimidating. The other reason is…My wife is not a big fan of fish sauce, or seafood in general. When I came home with the food she treated me, and the food. like I’d walked in with a bucket of Lutefisk. I however think the food was fabulous, aromatic and tasty. I will be back soon, sadly sans wife.

Honestly beat authentic Vietnamese place in town. It competes with those of Chicago and California. Which is saying a lot. All of the other places that serve pho are Americanized and don’t hold true to real Vietnamese flavors! If you don’t go here for pho you are missing out.

I think it’s one of the most flavorful pho dishes around.

Food was good once the waiter(s) tore his eyes of the tv playing some Vietnamese concert and and grudgingly came over to take the order and brougt the food with equal enthuciasm. Then disappeared in the back somewhere, never to be seen again until I called out a few times to pay. Needless to say, my spicy chilli sauce never arrived neither did the spoon we requested for the pho. Price is lower than the Vietnam kitchen but don’t know if it’s worth the really bad service.
