  • Went for dinner last night & when we walked in it smelled like sewage so bad. Don't know what was going on with that but we stayed. Guess after awhile…

  • Service was great but the food was mediocre. Filet mignon was charred on the outside. Eddie's Merlot and Cabernet were served chilled instead of room …

The service here was horrible we waited 30 minutes for someone to finally come and take our order and we are still waiting for our check to come. This is a pathetic excuse for service. I deserve great service for the amount of money that I paid for dinner; I will never come back here. Absolutely horrible service that does not outweigh the food which was unfortunately actually good.

My husband and I enjoyed a great dinner at Eddie Merlot’s. It was a long time ago but I just came across my pictures and thought I would write a review. It was Valentine’s Day so the restaurant was busy. They offered to have a dozen roses for me when my husband made the reservations. Nice touch! Our food was great. There was a nice wine selection. We started with the Ahi tuna wontons and then proceeded to eating two filets. My husband added the lobster to his filet and I added scallops to mine. Both entrees were very good. I liked that you had several choices of sauces, toppings, and add-ons so you could really customize your meal. The restaurant offers many sides to choose from. We had a great dessert but I cannot remember what it was exactly. Seems like it was a french toast type dessert. We had great service. Overall great night and we would certainly return next time we are in the area.

The food is good, but horrible service in the dining room–among the worst in the city. If I’m going to a mega expensive steakhouse, I expect exceptional service very well deliverednot someone who would be lucky to be working at Arby’s; and unfortunately that tends to be the standard here over numerous visits. That said, the food is top notch and if you really want to make this place work, sit at the bar to have dinner. The bartenders and service are outstanding without fail, and it’s the same food/menu; plus a bar menu with some smaller plate options. One of our favorites, we just don’t make reservations anymore.

Not Important. We were in May 3’rd with my wife and 4 kids to celebrate her 50th birthday. The total experience was very bad. The server was rude, really seemed very tired and not interested in making our meal anything special.. There was constant confusion about who was taking our drink orders and who was taking our appetizer orders, which seemed to make him angry. After the meal was delivered we never saw a waiter again (no one checked on our food quality) until he threw the desert menus at us which upon opening them were empty of anything. He came back 15 minutes later to ask us if we wanted desert. We told him we didnt know what desert was. He mumbled something to us, my youngest daughter said she wanted cheesecake which took another 15 minutes to arrive… My kids have an app on their phones which tells the temperature. It was 82 degrees….when the asst. manager stopped by at the end of our meal to ask how things were we told him it was too hot (after we told the person that seated us and hour and a half before it was too hot) and he said there was nothing he could do as the air had gone out the prior night…I told him that made it even worse as there is a CVS next door go buy some fans…His attitude about the entire experience including the bad service was there was really nothing he could do about it….which I see online looking at other reviews is consistent with experiences of others…The waiter asked me if I didnt like my wine when he finally came back to clear the tables and I said it was way too hot to enjoy warm wine…My wife and I left mad after paying $500, On her 50th birthday, after she picked your establishment. Very sad.

If I had to describe it in one word; Horrible. My wife and her co-worker entertained a customer and his family here on a Friday night, spouses were invited so we had a total of 12 in our party. The service started off good with drinks ( water and sodas) being brought out quickly along with several plates of appetizers. It dropped off quickly from there. Our server disappeared and we started running out of drinks. Several in our party also wanted to get bottles of wine however; our server wasn’t to be found. He finally came out and took out food order during which time he made remarks about not being out of any food items…yet. He also commented about the number of sides we ordered making us feel like we should not be ordering the amount that we did. Remember, we had 12 in our party. Our server was clearly upset and borderline rude from this point on. He disappeared again. A member of our party had to get up and approach another server about getting bread, drinks and wine. The bread was brought out however our glasses remained empty. She got up a second time and spoke with the hostess up front about our lack of service. We recieved no response after being told she would get someone. The same member eventually cornered the manager and had to sternly request servers come to our table. Service began to improve however you feel the tension from the servers. The food was decent for a $$$$ resturant but I would compare the service to that of a Waffle House. Actually, I’ve had better service at WH. Service should not be an issue at a $$$$ resturant however here it was. I wholeheartedly agree with other reviewers about the lack of good service. We will not be returning!

Poor service , cold restaurant and mediocre food. We dined on 2/28/2015. the restaurant was so cold and drafty we had to keep our heavy coats on. From the time we placed our order to being served was 1 hour. The Sea Bass was excellent, however the Filet Mignon was dry and the New Orleans Mixed Grill was OK. I have had better at Red Lobster at half the price. Service very slow – it was 45 minutes before the bread was served.

No more Merlot. Short version – service was slow, uncaring and verged on rude. At 6:45pm on a Saturday night they were out of several items on the menu. Food was mediocre. From now on we will stick with Ruth’s Chris where the service is unbeatable and the food never disappoints.
