My son took me to El Mundo’s for a birthday dinner. The place is very quaint and kind of creepy, but most people probably like that. We checked in the first floor first since we never been there. It is where you order at a counter and come get you food when it is ready. It is not fancy and it was kind of loud with chatter, like the acoustics were turned up. We left there to go check out the upstairs and saw the back patio area on the way up. It had been raining before time so we passed on eating outside even though it was covered. It was slightly humid. When we were going up the stairs outside to get to the upstairs dining we passed some people who said they were taking numbers to be seated. That’s fine. This place has many great reviews. It is to be expected. When we came in the door a Johnny on the spot host asked us how many. We said two and were seated immediately in the only high-rise table in the bar. The place immediately started filling up. People were eating at the bar and others stood around with drinks in hand waiting to be seated. Our waitress, Katie or Kaitlyn was very nice in telling us what she liked and what she has tried. Her recommendations were wonderful. We started with a small nachos which she said would be large enough for two if we were also ordering entrees which we did. The nachos were great. My son ordered quesadillas and I ordered steak fajitas. Everything was better than we thought it would be. The service was Super and food more authentic than any other Mexican restaurant I ever went to. El Mundo claims to have cooked from scratch and I believe it. Their food does not taste like previously prepared and packaged fare. I cannot ding this establishment for anything. It is small and quaint as I previously stated. Bathroom is small and unique. The place has character and could easily grow to double the size with the right taste in food. For now it appears they choose to keep it small which is their prerogative. I would go again if someone in my family or friend wanted to go. The menu isn’t Huge, but I could go several times before I tried everything on the menu which I would like to do. Visit El Mundo and enjoy.

Went here for a date night and liked the concept of the self service on the first floor and table service on the second. The food was good and I could tell they put forth effort into making it fresh but it didn’t differentiate much from a typical Mexican chain restaurant. The margaritas we had were pretty boring as well. Not worth the cost for me.
