I liked this place a lot. Lots of wood gives it an old tymie sort of vibe. It’s a very comfortable pub like atmosphere with friendly efficient staff, good music low enough to talk over and pretty good food. If you are serious beer drinker and like to sample various types of brew, I’d say to consider this a 4.5.But I’m not a huge beer drinker. So while I found the varied selection of drafts and bottled beers interesting, It’s not quite enough draw me back down to the Highlands frequently. The food is good, but likewise not quite good enough to be worth a special trip and search for a parking spot. I had the fish sandwich, which was a nice sized, very well prepared beer battered fillet, with good tartar sauce, fresh tomato, onion, pickle and lettuce. With it I had the onion rings, which were tasty and crunchy. While neither were among the best I’ve had, they were both very good, certainly well above the typical for pub grub. Portions of both were generous. So, in summary, if you like beer, be sure to check this place out. If you are in the area and looking for a comfy friendly place for a casual meal, you should consider this place.

I frequent a few restaurants in the area, and this will definitely be one of them now. I wasn’t sure of trying an Irish pub. There are three (?), I believe, in the Highlands, and I was honestly afraid of the food being a bit generic. I had the fish and chips, and it was the best choice I made all day. Everything on my plate (fish, broccoli, and cranberry slaw) was great. Our server was quick and polite, and a band was playing on the patio. All around good atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

I was reasonably impressed with Flannys. I love had the cordon bleu, French dip, and bites of a few other sandwiches, they’ve all been good. Though the fries were better than most, the onion rings are worth the extra charge. Considering the surrounding area, the draft beer selection is barely acceptable. A few good beers and several Irish. I would go for lunch or dinner but without a larger and more diverse draft selection, this won’t be my Friday night destination.

Such great food and great atmosphere! They have great outdoor seating for the warm days! I’ve tried all the pubs/bars in this particular area, and Flanagan’s has by far the best food! Fish and chips and burger Orleans are a must! This is my go to bar to take friends from out of town. It’s always been a great dining experience.

A Great Discovery. We ended up here on Mother’s Day 2012 after our original dinner plans fell through. What a good pick! There was no wait and we had a great server. And the food… Between us we had the Gouda burger, fried chicken sandwiches, and fish sandwich, and all were tasty and well done. The fries are phenomenal — spicy and delicious. I also have on good information that the onion rings are very good. The decor is very pub-ish, but my mother was charmed. The draft beer list was varied and had several great choices. Overall a great find and a place we’ll definitely be returning.
