Just eat there one time!. Sandwiches, chili, cajun shrimp, etc. This is a great place to get a sandwich that is huge and a great price! I eat there every chance I get.
Like my momma makes em’. This is one of the very few places that is left from my childhood neighborhood. i grew up next to the fairgrounds. as that’s where franks is located. today i went there for lunch and paid 3.50 for a sandwhich well worth the money. they get you in and out the door fast too.
I hate this place. I ordered 2 T-bones, the guy walked them to the front register. The little girl working the register was rude. She did not greet me when I approached her. I told her what I had and she told me no one brought that up to her. I said yes they did, she wanted to argue with me. I pointed the guy out who walked them up. The lady behind me in line said yes that’s what the guy walked up there and told the little girl the people in front of me pushed them into their order when everything was getting bagged. The little girl working did not say sorry or anything she just said oh well. Some guy working there said well you can buy something else. I walked out of the store and will never ever go back.
I have been going here for years. I drive 40 miles both ways just because I won’t buy my meat from anyone else. I love franks. Every time I go to pick up my order, I can’t resist getting one of their lunch specials. It really does have that small town feel and they will go out of their way to make sure you are happy. I won’t go anywhere else.
I love Franks. First, chances are good you’ll get served by Frank. If not, his equally attentive employees will e happy to pile on quantities of meat that border on practical joke- in a good way. Take your cold cut home and divide it into three sandwiches. You’ll still be full, and the bread from Kroger admittedly is better. Frank needs thicker larger bread. Their hot lunches rarely disappoint. Pulled pork rocks my world. Fresh fruit, cold single can sodas, kettle chips… As I sit in my car in the parking lot and eat the best brown bag lunch I could ever ask for, I am a brother to the other 30 or so blue collar workers, firemen, security guards, military personnel… And I laugh at the poor snobs in their Jettas and Volvos waltzing into McDonalds next door, completely ignorant of their proximity to lunch heaven. Last time I ordered to cater a party, Frank himself carried it to my car for me, wished me congrats on the new baby being baptized, and chatted about his shiny new meat slicing bandsaw. I imagine this must have been what it was like in those perfect little small towns our grandparents always bragged about, when kids fetched cigarettes for their parents at the grocer, and you could trade your fresh eggs for a poke of salt if you couldn’t afford to pay cash.
Amazing. Basically delicious, great fresh food
