Best take-out lunch in the city. Used to live right down the street years ago and got spoiled by Frank’s. They have really good meats and an awesome deli/take-out counter. You can get char-grilled hamburgers, brats, hot dogs/chili dogs, deli sandwiches (Dagwood style), soup, chili, pork and chicken sandwiches, sloppy joes, pulled pork, and sides like potato salad (American, mustard and German), macaroni salad, coleslaw etc. They are full service meat and have produce and all kinds of special sauces. They also have chips and drinks. They do a big lunch business and they are right by the fairgrounds (next to McDonalds and Value City), so they are a great option to take into events when you don’t wish to pay those outrageous food prices in the fairgrounds.Today we picked up a bowl of chili (really good), a huge fully dressed cheeseburger, 2 drinks, and 2 big sides of potato salad (1 American, 1 mustard) and out total was $15. It was a good amount of food for the price. They don’t have seating inside, so it’s only take out. We went to Bradley park down the street and had a nice lunch outside. Don’t pass this place up if you’re in the area. Also, great choice for a meal if you’re at one of the hotels close by.
Best lunch in town for the price and taste. They have the best pulled pork in town, better than any restaurant. Their burgers are in the top 5 for taste but are bigger than any in town. The chicken sandwich is massive. You can any kind of cheese to your sandwich you like. A deli sandwich runs you less than $4 and will fill you up all day. They have all kinds of sides to make a plate lunch out of, which run $6 plus tax. They have fresh produce, a large shelved wall with all different kinds of BBQ, marinades, and sauces to buy, cookies, candy, etc. I’ve had steaks, ground beef of different grades, chicken, and pork chops from here and they’ve always been great.
