I’d rather they charge me more and bring back the better quality food.. Well it’s Monday. We used to get take out from here at least once a week, usually on Monday. It was good, dependable chinese food. The hot and sour soup was the best in town. But something shifted over the summer. They cut the quality, and it was evident in the food. We stopped going. They’ve opened up a new space just down the road, and my family is hopeful they’ve gone back to the original quality ingredients. But it’s too hard to drop $30 and go home with what I expect is dinner, only to realize nobody will eat it, and I’m still going to figure out something to cook.If the owner is reading these posts, I’d like you to know that we really want to support your restaurant. But we’re not willing to eat chicken that’s been so pumped up with saline that it’s more like chewing gum. And would you please, please go back to the old recipe for your hot and sour soup? The old recipes for everything, actually. Whatever that change was in a basic element of most of your sauces was not for the positive. I’ve heard the same time and again from my Crescent Hill neighbors. Maybe you could re-think your strategy with the new restaurant, and go for higher level dining at a bit more $$. If you advertise that you are using (and then use) high quality food, and put out a coupon, we will surely be lured back. But only once, if the food isn’t up to par. Thank you.
HORRIBLE don’t waste your money. I had a simple meal. Chicken fried rice! The rice was overcooked the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way through and the crab ragoons tasted like dough. No flavor what do ever. The workers were very rude! Won’t ever go back here. Not the same as it was 2 years ago
Still have dreams about their food…. My boyfriend and I were visiting Louisville about two months ago and stopped for a quick bite before we headed our separate ways. The lady at the register acted…odd but other than that I had no complaints. It looks a bit sketchy but the food is AMAZING. I got chicken and mushrooms with white rice, I believe it was one of their $4 or $5 lunch specials. I received a huge portion and ended up having left overs for my next meal. It was just so good. I can’t stress that enough. I won’t be returning to Louisville in the foreseeable future so I find myself desperately searching for an alternative to this place wherever I go.
NO, they changed the crab rangoon and overcooked the rice!. This used to be the best crab rangoon in Louisville – a light, crispy 4 pointed shell with a bountiful and flavorful cream cheese/crab filling. That was last month, today I received a triangle of all pastry dough with a smidge of filling that had no flavor at all – and it was cold to boot. I could have made better ones from my freezer with my microwave. The white rice used to be perfectly cooked. Today I received an overcooked, mushy substance that i also could have made myself. I get takeout because i want hot food done right, not frozen generic stuff heated up in a microwave. I sincerely hope this isn’t the start of a new direction in the menu in this location and instead was just an off day.
I decided to try this place out after reading the reviews on here. As another reviewer mentioned, the crab rangoon was disappointing, not very flavorful and the filling had a weird texture to it. However, the spring rolls were crispy and delicious. We tried the sesame chicken and the chicken lo mein, both of which made fresh to order, but neither left us particularly impressed. While the food wasn’t bad by any means, this wouldn’t be my first choice next time I’m in the mood for Chinese.
Great!. I’m a chinese food freak and this is the best I’ve found in town! It’s also pretty cheap. Everything I’ve tried is good. Definitely give this place a try! Lunch combo is like $4.50 I think.
Best Chinese Food In Louisville. My wife and I used to live in Clifton and have been frequenting this hidden gem for years now. We’ve since moved away, but will make the 20-25 minute drive just because we know there is nothing better in Louisville. The food is consistently off the charts. In years of going, We’ve only ever had one bad dish and when I came back inside and told the staff, they made me another batch right on the spot apologizing sincerely for it.Consistently amazing food; particularly the Lo Mein (I prefer the pork) and Boneless Spare Ribs *a must-have from this place*! The Crab Rangoon is definitely worth a try; be warned, however, it is not the typical filling of cream cheese that most people are used to. I would describe the taste similar to that of a hushpuppy with crab in it. Bizarre sounding? Perhaps. But we’ve come to love the taste. As others have said, the staff is not the most talkative, but that’s because they are focused on making the best food possible. Also, take your food to-go as there are only a few tables and it’s not exactly the atmosphere that you should go there for.Overall, everything I’ve ever had from this place is incredible and, most importantly, CONSISTENTLY incredible which is a huge problem with most Chinese restaurants. I, as a Louisville native, have never found a place better, and my wife as a New York native knows amazing Chinese food. So, together, we would just like to say: It is DEFINITELY worth the visit. You won’t be disappointed!
