Hilltop Tavern is awesome!. Hilltop Tavern is my favorite place in town. The drinks are reasonably priced and they have a great selection of craft beers and sweet cocktails too. I recommend the fruit vodka infusions. The menu has been recently revised, and includes great pub food such as beer cheese burgers, fries, chili, etc. I like how they’ve put a twist on classic dishes such as mac and cheese fritters and the meatloaf sandwich. They’ve recently added a salad, which is a welcome addition.This is a great place to enjoy a drink on the patio and people watch, or for a game of ping pong and dinner inside. Hilltop’s wait staff and servers are always warm and friendly, and you can’t beat the neighborhood atmosphere!
Beer cheese burger is amazing! Friend had the homemade black bean burger and loved it! Fried mac & cheese balls so so good! Great beers on tap too!
It’s been 5 months since the last review. If you are familiar with this location that alone should tell you it’s worth a shot. As far as I know this is the longest running business in this location. Drinks are good, decent selection of brews and seasonals. They have a cocktail menu with reasonable prices. Overall, the place is pretty hip, has ping pong and Fooseball inside. Even have a projector for sporting. I can honestly say it was nicer than I expected. I’ll be back.
Hot browns!. The hot browns are tasty but the wings are awesome, good local joint .. Love local..
Just like the others…. Just like the other businesses that have been in this building for their short life…this one won’t make it either. Don’t waste your time.
Evening delight- Hilltop Cafe. While I was in Louisville for a graduation, my relatives suggested a trip to the Hilltop. We arrived in the early evening and a lively but not distracting crowd was in the dining and bar areas. We ordered appetizers – spicy wings with sauces. I made a request that my wing be smoked but not rubbed. When the plates were delivered, I thought I was looking at turkey wing. It was juicy, filling and tasted excellent. I then ordered the bread pudding – best I ever had- (even my mom’s). I went back the next day for another bread pudding. The wait staff was attentive, though busy with many customers. The local art on the walls is a plus as is the clean and well stocked restroom. Try it.
