Overpriced, overcooked
Outstanding service. Awesome food. Generous portions. Great atmosphere. Scenic view overlooking the Ohio River. Large enough to accommodate our party of 25. Will definately be returning.
Same Ole Same Ole…. Nothing special or unique about this tired old Louisville tradition anymore. Captain’s Quarters on up River Road likely is a bigger draw, but it too has its problems. I usually go for lunch and the take out is hit and miss. The onion rings come in large portions but are not very tasty. The place is in dire need to a face lift to compete.
Yuck. Over priced. Their Alaskan Scrod sandwich is frozen pollock. Definition of Scrod is fresh baby whitefish or haddock. Lots of places do it better especially Hungry Pelican.
Food is ok but the service sucks. The place is very poorly run. Only reason I go back is because the kids like the playground.
High priced, fried food. Very limited on healthier selections. Salad is cheap leaf lettuce. Flavorless. The green beans were dumped out of a can and warmed up to serve. It’s just not what it used to be. Decor is very dated and tired looking.
Never eat outside. I convinced a buddy of mine it was worth stopping here on the way home and I am so sorry we did. When we got here it was busy so we decided to eat outside that was a bad decision. FIrst off the menu is so limited to all fried foods which I am okay with. The problem the fried stuff was too fried like the Oyster rollup I got that was essentially a breaded rock it was so hard. This was nasty too since it was about an inch thick of breading then a little oyster inside. I tried to go heathy for main course so I ordered the shrimp salad and the disappointment on my face had to be evident when the server brought it out. Basically the salad part was just the cheap bagged stuff from the grocery and the shrimp was just cooked raw shrimp with the most watered down ranch dressing to go with it. When I was here a few years back we ate indoors and they have a larger menu with more broiled selections. I highly doubt I will go back here again but if I do I will certainly wait to eat indoors.
