We came on a beautiful Spring evening. Service-as always-was perfect. Anthony oversees his service staff like an orchestra conducter. The salad with fiddlehead ferns, citrus and goat cheese was subtlety delicious, and the halibut and salmon were spot on. The Grand Marnier souffl was the perfect finale tithe dinner. Felt like we were back in Paris.
SPAM – BEWARE. BEWARE! In my experience, Le Relais does not respect their customers or their privacy. Any information you provide will stay with them permanently and you’ll never be able to be removed from their solicitations. I have not lived in Louisville since 2005 and have been trying to have my email removed from their mailing lists for over 4 years. I have exchanged emails directly with the management, who are apologetic, but apparently have no control or interest in removing people who don’t want to received their solicitation. Recently they’ve switched to a newer spam system that contains a link to unsubscribe. But over a month after using the link I’m still being SPAMED. Enjoy the food, but don’t trust Le Relais with your email. Or better yet, patronize any of the wonderful Louisville restaurants that respect their customers.
Fantastic Food & Service. I took my wife here for our anniversary. From the moment we walked in the door we were well taken care of. The owner himself seated us and came back several times during our meal to make sure everything was OK. The entire waitstaff was very attentive. Our meals were absolutely amazing! We started with the mussels, which were excellent. I had the filet and my wife had the salmon for our entrees. My filet was so tender I could cut it with a fork. My wife’s salmon was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. We ended our meals with banana brulee and creme brulee for my wife. Both were outstanding. We will definitely be going back for future special occasions. Highly recommend!
When I want French food, I go to Le Relais. I love the lamb; it’s almost as good as my grandmother’s. 🙂 My friends who have lived in France agree that it is definitely authentic. It’s definitely a place for special occasions because of the price. If you like jazz music, try going on a Sunday night.
It bothers me to write negative comments about what used to be my favorite fine dining restaurant in Louisville. Back in the 90’s Le Relais was just a gem! Innovative French cuisine to a high standard. The owner and the ambiance have remained the same however thats where you draw the line. Scant portions, kobe-beef that tasted like stew meat in a pasta dish and creme-brulee adorned with a single blueberry. I should have known something had changed when the parking lot was almost empty on a Friday night. Evidently, this economy has taken its toll with regards to portions, product quality and a chef de cuisine.
Best meal in Louisville, period.
Perfect.. I have never had a bad meal at Le Relais. The food, the atmosphere and the staff are all top-notch. I definitely recommend it for your next special occasion!
