Authentic and clean eating. If you like your Indian food Westernized – and I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that – then, no, you probably will not like Little India Caf. This is authentic Indian food like some of my Indian friends have made for me. I think it’s delicious. It’s a little dryer and spicier than all the creamy, sweeter dishes you would find at other Indian places. I like that kind of Indian food too. I’m a glutton for paneer tikka masala as rich as can possibly be made. This place has great biryani. I’ve never tried their buffet because I’ve always had to carry out but some colleagues at the hospital love the carryout buffet. I’ve always felt great after eating their food and I unfortunately can’t say that about every other Indian place in town even though I’m a fan of some other places. The food feels clean to me. The Indian woman who helps us is super sweet. She’ll cook to order any dish at the spice level you’d like.

Go meet the friendliest restaurant owner you’ll ever meet.. I could tell you all about the delicious and vibrant Tikka Masala, the excellent Biryani, or any of the other wonderful dishes, but that’s not the selling point for me. You should go because it can be one of the most fun eating experiences you can get around Louisville. With Indian music videos or a Bollywood movie playing in the background, you will most likely meet one of the friendliest restaurant owners in North America. He will greet you with a smile, and if you are lucky, engage you a wide ranging and endearing conversation about: the freshness of the Little India’s ingredients, the medicinal qualities of his food, how Little India is better than other local restaurants, his family, India, etc. He may even pull a family member from the kitchen and tell you their life story. If you’re like me, you’ll sit there, mouth agape, wondering how you stumbled into this whirlwind of conversation. But, you will enjoy every minute of it.

Lunch diners. We’ve been here twice for lunch now and find the food great! The waiters and other staff were all friendly and accomodating, such as when we told them the naan was out and they immediately brought more out.I’m sure we’ll be regulars and be back to try the dinner!

Little India Cafe. My husband and I adore authentic Indian cooking. We regard the Little India Caf as far and above the best Indian restaurant in Louisville, rivaling the best Indian restaurants we’ve dined in in other cities. The food is perfectly spiced, not too heavy on gee, and served sizzling hot. Everything, including the bread, is made to order. Servings are large and the prices are a bargain. The dcor is modestly understated but the food is as good as it gets. Do yourself a favor and try it.

I was at shalimar about 2 hours ago did not like the buffet the place was clean I always go to little india cafe because the food there reminds of back home india even though my heart telling me to go to little india I saw a bad review by paula they said shalimar was much better. Aparently they have no idea about indian food and I agree to their comment that the place is not as welcoming but for their info they are moving to a much cleaner location best indian restaraunt in kentucky if you dont like little india then maybe you should stop eating indian food and actually find out the differences I am pissed becaused I just ruined my toung with this food at shalimar I mean other indian restaurants in louisville are much better then shalimar I definitely recomend little india to anyone that likes good and healthy indian food
