This is a Unk gem of a resturant.. If you enjoy Mediterranean food at a affordable price then this just could be you new favorite place to eat. I’ve been a customer of Sami’s for a few years and I must say his abilities as a cook have never let me down. Every dish has been a treat and I always leave satisfied. Great service, great food at a great price. What more could you ask for

Gyros and hummus to die for!. My wife, myself and my family have eaten at Little Jerusalem numerous times and the food is consistently delicious. You can count on it being very good EVERY TIME, which is really rare for a restaurant. If you have never tried Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine, you are in for a treat. My favorite menu item is the gyro prepared with beef and lamb. I have never tasted lamb that I liked, but the way Sami Barghouti, the owner of Little Jerusalem, prepares it is awesome. It is savory and delicious and he knocks it out of the park every time. He has to be one of the hardest working restaurateurs in the Louisville area. During every visit I have made to this little gem tucked away in a corner of the plaza at Iroquois Manor shopping center, you can see Sami busy working his magic in the kitchen. I am a lover of hummus (my second favorite menu item at Little Jerusalem) and, just let me say, you have not tasted good hummus until you have tasted it the way Sami prepares it. If you like hummus and you are hungry but low on dough, get an order of hummus for the road. I can virtually guarantee your appetite will be satisfied. The hummus is, to use Fieri-speak, truly out of bounds. My wife and I always order the hot tea with cinnamon and cardamom. It is carda-BOMB. I really love the yellow basmati rice too. The atmosphere of the restaurant is laid back and relaxing, and there is a little TV in the corner that continually plays video of Middle Eastern music performances (at least thats what it sounds like to me), which adds a nice ambiance. Given the paucity of good restaurants in the south end, this place should be on the national register of off-the-hook restaurants. You say such a registry doesnt exist? I just nominated Sami a founding member!

Unique and fresh entres served with a smile. The Gyros were served as build your own with yellow saffron rice and salad. The lamb and beef was not shaved from a rotisserie, but came in small chucks–different but delicious. The tiziki sauce was wonderful. The humus was also very good though it did not come with bagels as was advertised on their menu. Highly recommend!

This place is the best. Delicious food at a good price. I haven’t had anything bad here and I don’t think I ever will. My favorite dish is the Chicken Shawarma Light meal with a half Greek salad. If you like Gyros try one from here, they are the best that I have ever had.19 Sep, 2014Chicken Shawarma Light Meal. Delicious chicken on top of hummus, with pita bread and half a Greek salad.

The menu is basic but you get a choice of rices and cooked cauliflower abounds. Love cauliflower!

The Best Place Ever. I have worked for Sami and I have tried other places. Little Jerusalem Caf is a little far from J-Town which is where I work was craving Sami’s food. So I went ti Sam’s Gyro here on Hurstborne. Sami it was horrible.. All of it down to the hot running like soup Tiziki Sauce.. Nothing compares to your food. Nothing.. I will never waste another dollar unless I’m there.. Promise.. Love ya Rebecca
