Old school bar – making cocktails the way they should. Must have a hand made cocktail prior to dining. Staff goes out of their way to ensure you are satisfied. Must have charred octopus, NY Strip. Soups off the chart as well as the hen. A place we will revisit when back in Louisville.
We had snacks in the bar area, so I can’t rate the actual dining room. But we had a burger and the smoked ribs, and both were very good. Also an excellent bourbon selection. Been to Proof before and I’ll definitely return
Food was good. They weren’t real busy, but seemed understaffed. Service was very poor with long periods without a waiter.Extensive Bar, but apparently an off night for the Bartender who seemed unhappy to have us there. At one point he in the face of the Manager(?), who did ask him to step to a less public area for the discussion. All bad enough, but we had alerted the hostess at the start of the evening that it was our Anniversary. Service shouldn’t be this bad at any price.
Absolutely marvelous. Fun atmosphere (can be formal or casual) and food creations that are unique and tasty. The octopus! And I’m not kidding, the Green Beans! LolThese guys are the best.
Ok, if a bit presumptuous. I started out a raving fan but over time their food quality seems to be slipping, and the menu less exceptionally executed. The grilled octopus use to be one of my favorites but the last try was swimming in oil and overcooked. The pork chops are imaginative in varied presentations from week to week, huge, and usually good. Steaks are nothing special. Ambiance is terrific, neat setting. But what was once a star is now fading…
Very contemporary setting! Loved the adventure of chewing on roasted bones in a fine dining place. Great selection of wines & the food was divine. Don’t forget to take stroll through the art and installations all over the lobby too! And if you are really good a penguin may even join you for dinner!
My rating is based on only having tried their appetizers at various social events, but what I’ve had has been delicious.I look forward to actually dining there soon.
