A beer nerd’s paradise.. I have only been once, and can’t speak for the food, but it is basic diner food. The beer selection is amazing. Had one on tap and took a few bottles of beers we had never had home.Sergio is a quirky, but nice guy. He will put up with nerds who like to talk beer. The beers aren’t necessarily cheap, but the selection makes that okay.

This place is amazing. It’s eclectic, different, welcoming, and has more beers than you could ever imagine. Sergio is quirky but kind. If bud light is your go-to beer, this place is not for you.

Beer Aficionado’s Paradise. In the midst of acres of Bud Light-infected watering holes touted for beer that is allegedly the cheapest or coldest in town, Sergios is a beer enthusiasts oasis where if one orders a Bud Light, an unwritten understanding between patron & staff results in an ice-less glass of H20, the style of beer where you will find such beverages in Sergios detailed beer list; and detailed it is! There are 40 odd drafts, some seasonal guests and some regular lurkers, and another 1,400 or so bottled brews from all corners of the known world in a seemingly endless storehouse of refrigerators and walk-ins. Regardless of taste preference, the odd charm of the owner and his delightfully eccentric staff have made many a beer nut feel at home in their dimly-lit realm of beer bliss.

Very expensive beer selection in comparison to beer store and holy grale. Tables sticky and smelling of BO.

Its all about the BEER!. That’s the only reason to go, and you will not be disappointed unless you are solely an American ‘lager’ drinker, if that’s the case stay far far away, or at least go to the next door pool hall. Some of magic of this place is that there is such an extensive collection of beers, both in bottle and keg (41 kegs). The kegs are switched out regularly so that the variety is always there. In some cases Sergio will acquire kegs and keep them conditioning for years before bringing them on tap. Some of the food is ok, like shrimp ceviche and the soups, but otherwise not really worth ordering. This place is very unique. You simply will not find a place with this many quality beers anywhere else regionally. Is Sergio a beer snob, yup sure is. Rarely does the bar conversation ever diverge from beer.Bottomline, its a beer nirvana, a beer mecca that all beer lovers should pilgrimage.

Pretentious, snob for an owner. Imbibe somewhere else.. First there are many places in Louisville to get good (and rare beers)…There’s no need to put up with a pretentious (I mean real pretender) so and so who’s going to treat you badly and then overcharge you for it. The only good thing about this guy opening this place is that he’s gone from another restaurant before he ruined them. If you like, rude, no service then by all means…..here ya go.

Lousiville’s beer mecca. I’m a Cincinnatian who travels to Louisville several times a year and I can honestly say that Sergio’s might be my favorite bar not only in Louisville but..ever! The first thing you notice when you walk in are the beer taps everywhere. Now, many of those are souveniers of past-tapped beers, but look closely and you will notice that there is a HUGE number of tapped craft (and only craft) beers. With cases of style-appropriate glasses. He does it right, here! I was a recent legal drinker the first time I went and asked for help on what to choose because the beer list can be a little overwhelming. He was very helpful in steering me toward something to fit my tastes. This beer bar forever changed my perception of how to approach brews. Visit this bar with a conversationalist, order a couple of Old Rasputins or maybe some Dreadnaught, and sip on those 10% beers for several hours and I guarantee that the little fire that burns when one is happy and slightly intoxicated will be kindled at Sergio’s.
