One of my top three favorite places to eat in Louisville. Being that I consider myself a connoisseur of fine fried chicken I’m confident in saying that the Southern Fried Chicken at Sway is as good as it gets. Add in the delicious mashed potatoes and gravy and a side of greens and you have an amazing meal. They also have a really good breakfast buffet that is worth your time if you happen to be staying downtown.
Fabulous food and excellent service! The deviled eggs, salmon and brisket sliders were delicious! The breakfast buffet is fresh with varied options of fruit, pastries, eggs, meats, pancakes, waffles and much more!
Not your typical hotel restaurant. A number of fresh and creative menu entries, very well executed. The fried chicken is to kill for. Also a great bar, and in the summer when they open the windows a nice place to hang out and have a cocktail overlooking Fourth Street.
Sway has become my go to breakfast choice when I am back home visiting and since its a free comp. for Hyatt diamond members its a no brainer…. They offer a breakfast menu or the buffet. The buffet has many solid and tasty choices to choose from and if you cannot find something you like here you should probably just stick to dunkin donuts or mickey d’s. The ladies working the morning shifts have always been prompt and friendly.
My wife and I and a few friends visited Sway this past weekend. The food was great, but the service was awful. We had to ask for rolls and cornbread 4 times before receiving them after our meal when we were ready to leave. We ordered a medium steak and it came out rare. We sent it back and when it came out it was good. However, no fork to eat it with and after requesting one it was never brought to us. We had to steal one from another unoccupied table. Also, the waitress seemed frustrated with us when we brought issues to her attention. Like its our fault she forgot three times to get the bread she offered when we first sat down. It’s a bit of a shame considering how good the food was but my wife and I will not be back. There are plenty of other placing worth going to instead.

I have read the reviews for Sway and yes it is a high rise hotel restaurant but I think they are doing some things right. I must admit I don’t eat in the restaurant side but on the bar side. Service is amazing. When I walk in I’m greeted by the very friendly staff. I have tried several things on the menu. The fried green tomatoes are so-so….but when I need that fix, they fit the bill. The chicken tenders (which are only on the room service menu but can be ordered at the bar) are delicious. Light breading and not greasy. Last week I tried the hamburger. It was wonderful. It’s served on a brioche bun that’s toasted. I nice size burger but not huge. It was very good. I will definitely order again! I feel like you should set your expectations at any hotel restaurant. I feel like the customer service definitely helps Sway become a return restaurant for me!
