Expensive. Prices are higher than I was led to believe but they do have tasty cake and cookies. Although you can get more bang for your buck at Starbucks.

Great. My favorite strictly dessert place around town. Inexplicably rich and heavy cakes. Super tasty!

AMAZING WEDDING CAKE. So after having a not so stellar cake tasting experience at Cake flour my future mother in law and I went to sweet surrender, after grabbing a bite at the silver dollar and a heavy beer (so for those counting at home, I had eaten two cupcakes, a brisket sandwich, a salad and a big heavy beer, this will be relevant in a minute). We had to wait a while as they were running behind, but they brought us drinks and we sat on their really comfortable couch. When they had cleared the tasting area they sat us down at a big table all to ourselves with a flat screen TV running continuous pictures of other wedding cakes and other cakes (really good move on their part). The owner herself sat down with us and asked us about our thoughts and flavor preferences then brought out 6 probably .5-1 inch slices of cake in different flavors, all popular choices for wedding cakes. THEY WERE ALL AMAZING. Remember how much I had eaten? We almost cleared out the entire tasting and sign a deposit for a big four tiered cake right then and there.Kudos to Sweet Surrender for being able to understand the customer, giving a great experience and having the most amazing, dense moist, flavorful cakes I have ever had.If you can afford the price (and it is expensive) buy your wedding cake from them. At the very least go there for a tasting to compare, you will want to buy from them I promise.

Not Inexpensive, but Delicious!. Sweet Surrender is a small Frankfort Ave bakery that supplies cakes for some of the local restaurants. I have yet to taste a concoction that wasn’t complex, unique, and yummy. If you want simple, straightforward, and kid-friendly traditional taste, the Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen is likely a better choice. If you want a truly elegant dessert that will delight and impress the adults in your life, this is the place! You can purchase full cakes or slices to-go. Slices are not cheap ($6 – $6.50), but I think it’s the perfect choice for an occasional splurge.

Delicious!! Tons of options all of the time. Try the carrot cake or the Samoa. Yum.

Good. A little pricey, but good. I enjoy the lunch combination. Sandwich, side, and cake for like $8. A lot of vegetarian options. Love the bulgur salad as a side.

Delicious – sweet atmosphere and great service if they served booze I’d move in!!!!
