Very pleased. Wanted to try some place different. Had the street tacos, tamal, and rice. Oh my. It has been 20 years since I have had a tamal like this. Wow. Brings back memories. We will definitely be back. Authentic. Be patient with the service. Slow but very friendly. The homemade green sauce was out of this world. Lot a of flavor and bite.
We live in The Highlands but like eating here when we’re over walking the Anchorage Trail. Authentic no frills food and mostly Mexican clientele. Univision on the TVs. Much better in our opinion than the El Torasco at the other end of the same strip mall.
AHHH SO-SO. Our family went here Monday night due to the reveiw in the CJ, should have known better. The server seem to have some trouble understand our english as we had trouble understanding her Spanish. My wife asked if the item she wanted was spicy, no she was told, the sauce on the item was spicy but she removed the sauce. My item with chicken on the inside was fine, the others in the group enjoyed their orders, and the orders were large enough that several take away boxes were required. All in all, a nice place for real Mexican but as far as the WOW factor, was just not there. The chips seemed home made, a bit stange but not bad.
Helps to speak Spanish. Very authentic no frill’s Mexican restaurant on east side of town. Beware, the salsas pack some major heat. Pretty tasty taco joint.
It might’ve been a tad too authentic for me. So I think this one is not for me. Friendly wait staff. The salsa verde was delish and seriously hot!!!
Best Mexican in East Louisville. The tacos, and everything else for that matter, are delicious and the closest thing you will find to authentic Mexican food in east Louisville. The salsas are great, the tortillas are authentic and made in the bakery next door. The servers are always friendly and make you want to return. It’s become a once or twice a week stop for me.
