We love The Cheddar Box! The tomato artichoke soup is the absolute best, I can’t go there without getting a small cup. I really love the curry chicken salad and the green salad with strawberries/oranges/onions. I also love that we can dine in or go to the deli side if we are in a hurry. We often stop here on our way to the zoo and just make Cheddar Box out picnic lunch
The cheddar box cafe is delicious! There is truly something for everyone on the menu! Great to-go or eat in service too. Amazing desserts and appetizers for parties or tailgates. Head on out to Middletown and try it for yourself!14 Feb, 2012Great Food. The Cheddar Box Cafe has always offered a variety of food that’s left me full and satisfied! Its also great for party snacks and catering. Their spreads and hors d’eouvers are fabulous, especially the cheddar pecan torte!For Lunch I would suggest the house salad, derby pasta or any of the chicken salad sandwiches (honey pecan is my fave). The black bean raviolis or sweet chili chicken is a favorite for dinner! For dessert…so hard to choose. I love the Lucifer brownies the best, but all the cakes are awesome.Can get REALLY busy sometimes but is worth the wait. The staff is friendly and efficient and always tries to get everyone served quickly. Its great for lunch or to grab something to go and/or bring home for dinner.
The pimento cheese is the best in town but customer service is terrible…the clerks are nasty and uncaring
The staff is really nice and their BLT was pretty good even though I don’t like cream cheese so that’s saying something. Didn’t care for their chicken salad. Curried was just ok. Honey Pecan was too sweet. Really large sandwiches. Tea had a funny taste– I would go with unsweetened. I don’t think I’ll go back anytime soon because it didn’t suit me but it’s a cool place and always good to check out independent local restaurants.10 Jul, 2013Their Benedictine BLT sandwich was featured on Food Network as the best sandwich in Kentucky! I don’t know of I’d go that far, but I hate cream cheese and I thought this sandwich was really good. I looking forward to eating more there!

Great Place for Lunch. Great place to have lunch. Sandwiches and Salads are wonderful! My favorite is the Curry Chicken Salad, if you like curry, it’s a must! Staff are very friendly and I’ve always had great service.
