So, this place received rave reviews and we had an hour to spare in Newport. So, it wasn’t really a tough decision to try this one. Tough one was, to leave the place. Coffee & Food:They have a large menu for coffee with some amazing new varieties. They also have pastries, cookies, and some savory items. I came across Maverick’s chocolates as well – which is one of the best in Cincinnati area (arguably in the US as well). We went for Cortado and London Fog along with Donna’s chocolate chunk cookie and got the coffee cake packed. Cortado is pretty much 50:50 coffee and milk. Definitely, the kind of coffee you would love to have in the morning – provides great kick and really gives you a feeling that you’re having one of the best coffees in the world. London Fog was good – a very different beverage. I loved the velvety finish to it. It had a very familiar taste – closer to vanilla but not exactly that. But found it pretty bland – I would rather try something else than this. The cookie was great – something which can easily get overly sweet – they had a good proportion of sugar. The coffee cake was great too – very fluffy and soft. Ambiance: One thing you instantly fall in love with, as you enter the place, is the ambiance. The combination of wood and red bricks is very much visible but one thing you can’t stop noticing is the bicycle right on top of the menu wall. There is a rack on one side with different types of coffees that you can purchase. Brilliant work on the interiors – right from the tables to the curtains. The view outside is amazing. Be sure you take the table with a roadside view (for which you’ll need to be two or more). Service: Very good service. I hadn’t heard about Cortado before, so the lady at the counter explained it with great detail. I loved the enthusiasm these folks had. Pretty fast service, although the place wasn’t crowded when we were there. This is definitely one of the best places for coffee in Newport area and one of the must visit places if you’re traveling to Cincinnati.

Carabello is the epitome of a local coffee shop in all the best ways. The coffee is fresh and you can tell they take pride in serving you. The atmosphere is great to sit and chat or people watch I’m excited for their expansion!
My husband and I have slowly become coffee connoisseurs with our adventures to coffee shops throughout the city and every city we visit. The expresso is great at Carabello and by far my favorite in the area.As mentioned previously by other reviewers – there is a small wrapped caramel? candy that comes with the cappuccinos and cups of expresso – which truly are amazing.The atmosphere is nice. The service is great – everyone is always so friendly. They catered our wedding ceremony with the coffee and it was easy to accommodate with them. The service can be slow during the mornings, especially if you’re getting a pour over.We love Carabello and continue to buy their beans and make our own at home with our personal Chemex.
Wow. I bought a bag of their coffee beans at the Taste Of Newport a couple weeks ago and do not regret it one bit; in fact the bag is about gone. My fiance tried their tea and loved it, I have been drinking the coffee on a daily basis. I need to go get another bag, the taste of their coffee is one of a kind, and I am very picky about that. They are a great couple and the shop is very inviting; only thing different I would ask them to do is… be open 7 days a week 🙂
Good Cuppa Expresso – Great treat with!. We are admitted expresso snobs and found the shots here to be good. But the small wrapped candy that came with it – AMAZING! I might stop here for coffee but could just drive by as I live nearby and can make great expresso at home too but, I don’t have that candy. That will bring me back.
Great coffee and their story is just as good! If you are on the other side of the river… Ky… Stop by enjoy the place. The team is great!
