Newbie to regular, in no time flat!. I discovered Shortnecks quite by accident… I was parked across the street during a lull at work when a bartender passed by with an armload of 6-packs. I commented about her load, and she invited me to stop in, especially for $2 Tuesday, all beers $2. Thanks, Katrina!So, after work, I dropped by… just happened to be Tuesday! ;-)I am, first and foremost, a beer geek, so I immediately looked for the craft brews. Not a large selection, but enough to keep me happy with my meal, especially for 2 bucks! Beer prices are reasonable on non-Tuesdays as well.Basically, a bar food menu, nothing really out of the ordinary. What is out of the ordinary is the quality! I’ve had a dozen or so different menu items over the last few months, not a clinker in the bunch. I’m particularly fond of the fish, a generous haddock filet, perfectly fried. One oddity… anywhere else, Fish & Chips is fish and french fries. Here, the fish comes with Southgate chips, add fries for a small upcharge. Yes, that’s all I can find to complain about!Overall, the bar is clean and well-lit, TVs line the walls for sports viewing.Service is prompt and friendly, with top-quality bar food and a reasonably good beer selection.Highly recommended!
