I used to go here quite often during business trips and most recently, with a large group of family. It’s another place where one can stop and be greeted with a familiar menu and competent food and service. This location is better or worse than all others, but not bad either. Prices have jumped over the years and my go-to is the bourbon sirloin steak.
I have been to several Applebees in western Kentucky and southern Indiana and this one is the best. Every meal that I have had has always been hot and fresh and very tasty. The servers have been very friendly and always take good care of me. Most of the time when I eat there (maybe once a week) the manager actually stops by my table to make sure everything is ok. The menu also changes every month or two and there is always something new that I come back for.
On the right track. My last two visits to Applebee’s have been significantly better than some of my past experiences. The building’s renovation has definitely changed the atmosphere for the better. The food however, could be better. I’ve never had a steak cooked correctly here and so when I visit, I avoid steaks all together. The Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp is very tasty and I would recommend it above anything else they offer.6/10
Worst meal in Owensboro…. The service was incredibly slow (it took 1.5 hours for 2 of us to eat). Boneless chicken wings came out cold. My wife’s entree came out with out the side of potatoes and we had to ask 4 times before they came out. The bread served with my pasta dish was burnt. You know things are bad when EVERY table around you is complaining about the food and the service. It was absolutely the worst meal I’ve ever had in Owensboro and I will NEVER return to this place again!
