Dated and indifferent. Went with a group to eat after the dog show and was disappointed. It was hot and uncomfortable and so stuffy and claustrophobic. The food was indifferent at best with tough, chewy steak. The salad bar was still good but after sweltering for an hour waiting for our food we then had to stand in line for eons trying to pay. They need to remodel and make their check out procedure more efficient. That restaurant has made so much money over the years, they need to pump some of that money into giving their place a facelift and making it a more pleasant experience for their customers who have been so loyal. It was a drag, sorry to say.

Best salad bar in Owensboro! Love the sardines, hoppin John soup and all varities of fresh goodies! Such a treat!
Not the best, but not bad. I’ve been to the Briarpatch a few times and it is pretty good. I usually order the filet and it is not bad. The mushrooms are really tasty so I recommend ordering this side. The salad bar is large and seems to be popular. Salad and soup come with all meals. The soups, so far, are always the same and do not sound good. Never tried them though. The first few times I went I tried to order the twice-baked potato but it was always sold out. I assumed that this meant it was good. I was able to try it on my last visit and was very dissappointed. Tasted awful. It was flat as if it had been run over with a car. I won’t order that again. I also tried the tuna one night and it was very good. The rolls are yummy! Stick to the baked potato side and don’t go if you are in a hurry. There is always a wait.
