Niko’s is our favorite place to eat. We eat there sometimes weekly. The daily menu items as well as the regular menu are all delicious. The services is top notch. The deserts are to die for. There’s no place in town where the owner knows you and greets you at the door. Niko’s takes the time the talk to each of our kids about the individual sports they play. They all feel like he’s a family friend.

Great evening. We recently had dinner at Niko’s and we really liked it. The service we received was top-notch! The restaurant was not very busy, in fact there were only two other tables there the whole time. With food like this, the place should be packed. We ordered a large variety of dishes for the whole table to share. Everything we ordered was good, some items were great. We tried the greek mushrooms covered in cheese sauce. They were fabulous and might be my favorite dish. The Fried Mozzarella was also fantastic. We loved the shrimp tabasco. Salads came with our entrees. I did not care for my salad. It wasn’t really bad, just boring. As sophisticated as my palette is, I am simply a ranch salad girl and this was not an option leading to more disappointment with the salad. For our entrees, we also split several around the table. We tried several house specials starting with chicken cordon bleu meatballs with pasta. These were very good. Next, shrimp and grits. Now this was good but I am harsh on shrimp and grits because I am from Charleston and I like lowcountry, Charleston style s&g. This did not taste like home BUT I am in KY. The grits were great, better than many attempts I have tried here. The shrimp were really large and I prefer medium size shrimp. Also, there was too much of the tomato based sauce for me. Overall not bad but wouldn’t get again. Next up, cod dish, another evening special. This was the favorite dish of the rest of my party. I personally thought it was too fishy and again had WAY too much sauce on top (again tomato based). I also ordered an oyster dish (oysters bienville). They were half shell oysters with a baked topping. Not sure what I was thinking here. Not awful, but not something I will get again. The topping overpowered the little oyster. I am not sure where the oysters came from but they were pretty small. I was excited (and a little scared) however to see them on the menu. I hope they continue to offer them and I would like to try them again without that particular topping. We finished with a few desserts too. I ordered creme brulee. It had a great flavor but the consistancy was a bit runny. Still, very yummy. Also we tried the flourless chocolate cake and it was very good! This was probably my favorite dessert. Also, we tried a cannoli that was packed with chocolate chips. Also fabulous. I washed it down with a house merlot that was smooth. This was a great evening and we will certainly be back soon. If you haven’t tried Niko’s please do so!

Best of Owensboro. I’ve been here four times now, easily the best I’ve had since I’ve moved here. The food is fantastic, the service is top notch. They remembered what my wife and I drink, and we hadn’t been there for two months. I can’t say enough about this place. It is higher priced then some, but if you go to a chain restaurant and pay $15-20 for a average meal rather than paying a few dollars more to come here, you’re a fool. That said my wife had the carbonara, which is outstanding, for $16. Quality is always a value. Thank you to Niko’s for always bringing the quality.
