It’s been a long time since we went to The Miller House and I am just getting around to our review. The restaurant is in a beautiful old home and it has a lot of charm. There is also a bar area that looks fun but I haven’t been in there yet. My husband and I were disappointed with our meals. I would likely try it again and see if anything has changed because I like to try places at least twice before writing them off. After reading the other reviews, looks like we weren’t the only ones disappointed. I am from Charleston, SC and it is very hard to find fine restaurants in KY. I saw the Southern Sampler on the menu and gave it a try. The dish was pretty but wasn’t anything I would order again. It was bland and too fried. I ordered the meatloaf (not sure why bc I normally wouldn’t but it just sounded good) and was very disappointed. There was a weird spice or odd taste that stayed with me all night. Husband ordered a filet and it was just ok. I really wanted to like this place because of it’s charm but it fell flat.
Great Experience!!. My husband and I visited The Miller House for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! I had read a few bad reviews before going but decided to give it a shot. As soon as we walked in the door, the hostess was VERY friendly and welcoming. She showed us to our table, a beautiful little spot by the window. Our server was fantastic! He was very quick to any request that we had. Our food was served very quickly and FRESH!! The steaks were cooked to perfection! Though we could barely breathe after we had our dinner, we couldn’t resist when the server told us about the Peach Cobbler! AMAZING!! It was fresh and piping hot served with ice cream…it’s a MUST!! As we were about to leave, the owner was making her rounds. She stopped at our table and asked how we were…we shared with her how pleased we were at the food and the service. She asked what had brought us in so we let her know it was our anniversary. She provided us with a complimentary dessert! I can see why some have written poor reviews. As we sat there, 2 older couples were dining together and complained of the music being too loud. One of the gentlemen turned to us to ask if it was too loud, we told him no, we were enjoying it. He then insisted on telling the server to have the music turned down, it was too loud. It was actually very enjoyable. However, to please the guest, they did turn the music down. Unfortunately when that happened, I could then hear everyone’s conversations…Including the older gentleman talking about his cat rolling in the litter box (and that’s putting it pleasantly). I would assume these are the people that may write a poor review.I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience with the Miller House and their staff!!!
