Good food. Our favorite go-to Japanese restaurant in Owensboro is Fuji of Japan but our friends love Wasabi so we wanted to give it a try. We’ve eaten here a few times and it has always been good. The service has been great except if you are waiting for a table and want a drink at their bar while you wait. It’s a teeny bar and that’s fine, it’s very cute but there usually isn’t anyone working at it (or so it seems) so you have to wait a long time before anyone serves you. Once you get a table the service is better. The bathrooms are often dirty too.

I visited here for the first time today. I phoned in an order for a volcano roll and an Alabama roll plus two orders of fried rice. Ten minutes later I arrived to pick up the order and it was ready to go. Both rolls were fresh and tasted very good. The fried rice was hot and also very tasty. They use short grain sushi rice for their fried rice which I like better than long grain fried rice from other Asian places. My order was $16, not a bad price. The place was small with maybe 10-12 tables and a four seat bar. I look forward to eating in the dining room in the future.

Great food, the restaurant itself not so much. I walked in to Wasabi Express and automatically thought that the food was going to be bad because the restaurant look so ran down. The service was pretty bad, and the bathroom, even worst…However the food was great I loved their sushi. Great food, the restaurant just needs to invest more in the restaurant itself. Great potential.

First Visit. Tonight was our first visit to Wasabi Express and we were very impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and the servings were huge. We will definitely go back!

Best place ever!. I love this place I go as much as I can with my friend Mario Biggs who also eats here a lot, I’ve never had a problem or bad service I go here every year for my birthday and the back room is perfect for big parties! I love how Mr. Lee remembers us and always comes to the table to say hi, it makes the experience that much better! Whenever I have family or friends come in from out of town this is where I take them and we always have a great time. The prices are awesome the service is excellent and the food is amazing I am definitely a life time customer!!

Greed. I love the sushi at wasabi, but the last two times I’ve went there to get to-go I’ve been scammed. A Spicy Mexican roll use to come with crab meat AND spicy tuna, the menu still says it does… but now they seem to leave off the spicy tuna and just put extra crab meat, it’s pretty obvious. And the pizza roll has turned from having a good portion of shrimp and octopus to now having none, you can search through the cheese and crab, turn it upside down, whatever you want and there is no octopus, no shrimp, just cheap artificial crab meat and cheese. Give the customer what they pay for Mr Lee, you’ve already ripped off Ken, don’t rip off me.

Yummy, but where are the noodles?. I love Wasabi Express and often get take out here for lunch. The staff is great and the yum yum sauce is wonderful. The only complaint that I have is that the take out on lunch used to come with the noodles when you got the hibachi and now the noodles are gone. They certainly made up for it in price and you still get a lot for your money. I will still continue to eat at this establishment, I will just miss the noodles on lunch.
