Super slow, horrible service, have been there numerous times before but will not b back, took over 1 1/2 hrs for our food to arrive, our waiter was bad, our drinks went empty, one of our party had his food already eaten before the sushi arrived, brought 2 people’s out on the same plate, piss poor

When I first moved to paducah nearly 2 years ago I was shocked that there was a really great sushi restaurant here. Service has always been a little slow, but the food was fresh and well prepared. In the last 3 months the restaurant has lost a large portion of its staff. Better waitresses and sushi chef included. The so-so service has become almost unbearably slow, and the preparation (and quality to some extent) of the sushi has declined. I hate to say it, but tokyo is off my personal go-to list for a while at least

Having lived in San Diego, San Francisco, New York and being from the west coast as well as having dined many times in almost every major city in the US, I can say that I have enjoyed some of the most fresh and delicious sushi around. Recently my boyfriend and myself have found ourselves living here in Paducah temporarily for work and have found Tokyo Sushi to be by far the best, most fresh, delicious and authentic Japanese sushi restaurant within a 160 mile radius. We have found that the next best sushi from Paducah would be in Nashville which is two hours away or Chicago which is five hours from Paducah. As long as we live in Paducah, Tokyo house will be our only and go-to Sushi restaurant!!

Let me start by saying the food here is usually genuinely good. Safe to say it is the best sushi available in Paducah. Tonight was a huge disappointment. I’ve put up with poor service here so that I can enjoy the food several times, but I’ve had enough, because this time, the service was particularly bad, and the food was…fine, but a little offensive. I ordered my California roll with no masago (I’m not a picky eater at all, I’ve just always found masago to be a little too salty for my taste). After waiting AN HOUR for my simple Cali roll, seriously it took an hour from when we were seated (by the always rude hostess), it came out with little remnants of masago. Really? No way I was sending it back because as I said, it’s the salt factor that bothers me, and with such a small amount it wouldn’t affect me that much, but did they honesty think I just wouldn’t notice? Little bright ORANGE bits hanging out on my WHITE rice? Come on guys. I’m gonna notice. I have to say just attempting to brush it off my roll after making a mistake was a ballsy move. How many Cali rolls do you make per night? Give it to the next guy. This restaurant is just a major disappointment and I think I’ll save my sushi cravings for when I travel. Until the rumored new sushi place opens up here of course 😉

Amazing!!. We have tried nearly every sushi restaurant in the Southern Illinois/Paducah Kentucky area. Tokyo Sushi is by far the BEST. Nothing else remotely compares. Yes, you may have to wait a little, but I promise, it is worth the wait!!

Stopped accepting take-out orders. Last night the lady on the phone said they weren’t accepting take-out orders. Frustrating!
