Riviera maya is not good. Would not recommend this restaurant to ANYONE. Food is not that great. Service was the WORST service I’ve ever had at any restaurant in my life! Waiting forever to even get a drink! Don’t go! Pericos kills this place.
Puts Pericos To Shame. I once visited Mexico with my husband. We went to a restaurant there and it was to die for and that was over twenty years ago. A few years later we moved here to Kentucky and we went to Riviera Maya Bar & Grill. It was over twenty years since the last time I ever had Mexican food that good. This place is not Tex-Mex it is authentic Mexican food. Tex-Mex is fake Mexican food. It’s like your going to buy some Twinkies and you buy instead some other brand like Joe’s Cream Cakes. It’s not the same. Try Maya, it’s inexpensive and wonderful!
Cool space. Ate here tonight and really like the dcor. Can’t say the same about my, or anyone else in our parties’ meals. I swear my chile releno had spaghetti sauce on it. Once we got our food, we never saw our waiter again until it was time to leave and even then, we only got 1/2 of our checks. We waited for the remainder only to find there was no one to take our payments. weird night.
Nice Decor, Bland Food. The decor here is rockin! The seating in the dining area is very comfortable, and the lighting is just right. They really hit the ambiance here, and looks like there could be so much good potential! The food however was just bland. The chips were on the stale side, and the salsa that was served looked and tasted like it came out of a jar somewhere. I ordered a lunch special, that came with an enchillada and tamale. I wasn’t asked what type of enchillada or tamale I would like, and when the food did arrive, it was covered in a bland red sauce, and the ground meat inside just looked and tasted like it was browned in a pan and dumped into a warming tray ready to serve. There just was no mexican seasoning anywhere. No Cumin, no Chili powder, no onions / garlic, nothing. What got me too was when the plates did come out, the waiter served them with a very dirty looking oven mitt on his whole arm. When asked what the server recommended when taking our order, he just shrugged. He wasn’t rude, but he also couldn’t really answer any questions we had about the food and what it included. Our group also stood waiting for quite a while to pay and get back to work while no server / manager was in the dinning room at all. I’m sure they have a great happy hour crowd as the specials they had advertised looked hard to pass up, just be weary of ordering the food… But then again, after a few drinks, the food might have a little taste to it!
The choripollo is amazing. Great food, beautiful decor, great service. Definitely recommend eating here if you never have.

Authentic Full Scale Classy. I was taken aback when my friend took me to lunch here! I’ve been to Mexica a dozen times, and I felt like I walked into a classic stylish nicely designed Mexican Restaurant. The service was excellent, the food delicious and did I say the furniture, artwork, floor and ambiance was authentic mexican. I didn’t feel like I was in Paris, Kentucky but instead an afternoon vacation to Mexico. This will become a regular stop for me.
