This was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. Sesame chicken was recommended by the person behind the counter so i ordered the combo with fried rice. I am not even sure the chicken was chicken. I couldn’t eat much of it,even after i dumped 2 packs of soy sauce on it. Then i tried what they called fried rice. It tasted like plastic. It was yellow rice with something mixed in. Made me sick that night and i wont be going there ever again.

Chinese restaurants do not need a microwave. So, against my better judgement (as I have ordered here before and got the same results) I ordered delivery from this sorry excuse for a restaurant. My sesame chicken was soggy, gross, and had obviously been microwaved. The bowl of food was so hot, I could’ve been burned if I had spilled it on myself. My other food items such as egg drop soup and crab rangoon all sucked, too. Guys, if you don’t care anymore than this and you feel ok about sending food this bad out, just close down. It is pathetic and proves you don’t deserve to be running a business. I will never make the mistake of giving you money again.

I will readily admit that I’m a little hot as I write this review, but I think that it clearly illustrates the lack of service culture that exists at this restaurant. We order from Tsing Tao every month or two, whenever the craving for Chinese hits. They have some really acceptable food, but that is not why this is a 1 star review. It’s not great Chinese food, but it is probably the best and most consistent in Madison county, especially for takeout. Eating in the restaurant is terrible. They have stuff stacked on all of the tables because I don’t think that are used to having diners there, they live on more of a takeout/delivery crowd. My most recent order, yesterday, was taken in the same fashion it always is. The lady who answers the phone is brusque and efficient, which is fine. It was ready on time and I picked it up with the normal no flourishes style I have come to expect here. Problem is, since the bag is sealed when you get it, that I didn’t inspect it until I got home. They left a key part of a dish out. Now, it’s not always that big of a deal to get part of your order left out, but when you have family members who order certain dishes because that is all they will eat from a restaurant, it is important in the context of that meal for that item to be constructed right. It wasn’t, so I called to get the situation resolved. After explaining the situation, I requested that they deliver the missing part of my meal to me. I gave them my address and then was put on hold. I was told they couldn’t find my street on a map, which I believe since the street name I have her was not the one repeated back to me. I tried explaining that but she asked how far away from the restaurant it was. We are 6 miles from the restaurant I explained, right off the road that they are located. I was told that they have one driver and it was too far away for them to deliver. I won’t bore with the details, but after some back and forth, I was offered 10% off an order or I could return to pick it up. I explained that 10% off a future order wouldn’t be comparable to the cost of the meal that they didn’t properly prepare. That didn’t seem to matter, so after some additional discussion I ended my call with them. I won’t eat at Tsing Tao again. I will not do business with a restaurant who will not correct a mistake they made without it being the customer’s responsibility to take action. I understand that level of service at fast food places, but at a business that relies on delivery/take out, it isn’t acceptable to me. Your mileage may vary, but to me, it’s not about just what a business does when things go right, it’s what they do when there is a service failure that matters as well. In this case, it was a total let down.

I am fairly disappointed with Tsing Tao’s service, as of late. I called to place an order and was immediately placed on hold for over five minutes. I was growing impatient, then her a click noise and noticed that I had been hung up on. On top of that the second time I called, the same thing happened and then I got a busy signal upon the third. I can’t comment on my meal, since no one would provide me with the service to order it.

Service. Tsing Tao is one of the better chinese delivery restaraunts in Richmond. The problem is the service is poor. I work for one of the bigger companies in Richmond and when I called them to order a few lunches for me and my co- workers they were upset and asked if everyone here knew we were ordering and to get all of their orders then call back and they will deliver once. I feel like they shouldnt get our business if this is the way we are to be treated. Our breaks and lunches are over a span of 4 hours and with about 200 people we cannot simply all order at the same time. screw Tsing Tao

Went for the first time yesterday and the inside is very small, but don’t let that fool you. The waitress was hospitable and pleasant, the food was quick and correct, along with hot and delicious! Definitely the best Chinese food in Richmond, which my son exclaimed after our meal. Being a vegan, I was able to enjoy the Buddha’s Delight with some vegetable rolls. My daughter even ordered that today and was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely eat there again ad recommend to others!
