We ate here on a trip to Louisville, our hotel was next door so it was purely convenience. The prices are reasonable for a steak place and I like that…

My husband I ate here today… wonderful food, great atmosphere, waitress are really friendly.. not to bad on prices either. Ate their chicken tenders.. out of this world.
Wonderful T Bone!!. Thursday night my wife and I decided to drive out in the county and eat at Cattlemans. The parking lot looked really full but we went in and found the place about half full, got a table right away. She ordered one of the burger plates and I ordered the 16 oz T-Bone or Porterhouse, rare. I also went for the salad bar. I was quite impressed by the salad bar, the lettuce looked as if each piece had been washed by hand and all of the bowls were just about full as if someone was keeping the salad bar full and clean. Everything I had from the salad bar was great. Our meals arrived in no time at all and were hot. The steak was wonderful, one of the best I have had in this area. My wife said she should have requested the hamburger medium and it was well done. I loved the steark, even getting to eat off the bone. The server did a good job and we had no problems. We plan to be back in a short time and I want another one of those steaks. Try it..
Great salad bar! It’s the reason I go to Cattleman’s. Staff needs better training. They usually seem out of it and many servers don’t know what is going on. Not good people to interact with your customers. Everything else is just ok. Steaks are better than they used to be, but I can make a better one easily on the grill.
Waitstaff Training Needed. Tried lunch here again recently with out-of-town guests and the wait staff was bazaar to say the least. I do not come here for the entrees (which are hit and miss in taste and quality) but one in our party wanted the salad bar. Our waitress was definitely having a bad day and shared her unpleasant demeanor with us all via interruptions, impatience, and snippy comments. Not a pleasant time and portrayed Shelbyville in a bad light.23 Dec, 2011Not a Favorite. I’ve tried several times but just cannot come to like this place. Most of my friends agree as the food is very hit-and-miss. The salad bar is perhaps the nicest part of the restaurant in terms of consistent quality, but very limitted in items. Their hamburgers are some kind of frozen meat and I can grill much better steaks at home. I’ve not tried the Cattleman’s in Frankfort but I assume more of the same as the owners are the same.
The pork chop was amazing. The service was great. I would recamend this to a friend.
Lunch—Hurstbourne Ln. Cattleman’s on Hurstbourne Lane–opened Dec 3, 2012Excellent experience, there was 10 of us from work that went and they had the table set up within a few minutes after we arrived. Our server kept our drinks and bread refilled plus checked to see if we needed anything. The managers came over several times to make sure everything was as we wanted. All I can say is I was blown away with the friendly atmosphere, service and food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Cattlemans….. NOT!. Have tried this place several times over the past years…hoping it will get better as it’s so close to home. The food is just mediocre and the service about as lame most of the time. They do not know how to cook a steak and the cuts are usually tough, and flavorless (ever hear of marinade or seasoning????). The self serve salad bar is something from a 70’s cheap steakhouse with limited items and bland dressings… If they weren’t on the interstate I’d bet they’d be closed already…
