Based on acarry out order recently, I had higher hopes. I got their chicken curry and found the taste to be okay, but not terrific. Seemed to lack spices and flavors I love about curry. Large pieces of potatoes and carrots were nice, but became mushy over time. The whole dish with rice turned intomore of a porridge. Also, there was not a lot of chicken in the $15+ dish. Since this was carry-out, I’d like to return for a dine-in experience.
Love this place! I normally get the garlic chicken which is always fresh and flavorful. The Hot Sour Soup and egg rolls are always awesome too. They also have the best Spider Rolls in Louisville. I also recommend going for lunch. 8 dollars for rice, entree, and soup or egg roll! The only drawback is that the best server left.
This eatery is located in the building that housed Lentini’s for decades. Now it is a rambling friendly Asian themed place with a very diverse menu of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I found the staff to be friendly and satisfactorily efficient. On my first and only visit so far I had the beef pho. One of my favorite foods, and one I use to judge the quality of Vietnamese food in a restaurant. It was served with Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime and sauces on the side as one would expect. The noodles we OK, and the broth tasty but considerably less nuanced than some other places around town. It was a tasty filling bowl of food. Not my favorite pho ever, but a worthy effort.I was with a group, and everyone liked the various dishes that were ordered, mostly from the Chinese section of the menu. I’ll be going back, so if I come across any particular gems here I’ll post them later. In summary, I’d give this a thumbs up as a pleasant casual place to go.
Just an ok experience. Vietnamese chicken curry lacked any kind of flavor, spice, and of all things, chicken. A fair amount of potatoes and carrots but not a lot of meat in the dish. The Green pepper beef was very tasty. But I’m sure that you could find the same flavor at another resturant at a better value. Dishes cost $14 and $12. Pricy for what you received. Service was fair but not great.
Not a good experience!. Just received take out I ordered. Delivery took an hour and a half, sushi didn’t taste fresh and soup was cold. Really disappointing.
A pleasant experience.. The wait person actually hopped between the tables and the sushi prep area. Her english was better than my asian but we communicated and the food she brought was excellent. Clean, fresh tasting sushi and sashimi. A very nice inexpensive dining experience, in an interesting area of Louisville. We loved it and ate our fill.
Unfortunately Mimosa misses the mark on both food and service. Granted, I’ve had a few good meals there, but the food quality and service has taken a nose dive lately–especially for larger groups. Hopefully they can address the issue soon, as Mimosa has great potential and can have very good food
