First and last time.. Like many of the other reviewers have said, service wasn’t good, and it wasn’t busy. Well, OUR server was awful. The OTHER server working did a lot more for us than ours did. The OTHER service seated us, she stopped us from walking out the door since our server hadn’t come to the table, she took our drink order… Our server finally came over and took our food order, rudely mocked my 81 year old mother, and generally acted like our presence was an inconvenience. She also charged me $1 for a bit of mayonnaise for my bison burger. She didn’t tell me the mayo was a dollar, and when I questioned it after getting the check, she said that it says on the menu that toppings are a dollar each. Mayo is a topping and not a condiment? Oddly, I didn’t get charged for the ketchup I used. Tip to servers, when your restaurant has an effed up policy like that, let the customer know when they ask for it. Tip to pub owners, don’t have an effed up policy like that.As for the food, the bison burger was good. Really good. But not so good that I can’t get one like it elsewhere. Fries tasted much better than they looked. My mother got a grilled cheese (over done and nothing special) and the soup of the day-steak and mushroom. She didn’t like it, but I did. She got the Cream Ale, which she liked, and I got the Nitro. I like dark beers, but this one was all bitter with not much of the chocolaty undertones of which the menu spoke. Should have gone with the Wit. Louisville has so many good pubs with great food and beer, why would I go back to this one?

My husband and I have tried to eat here 3 times this year and it’s always too busy. We’ve heard good things about it and the food looks great but the servers are so rude and unorganized. They don’t great you. They state at you and look at you like your stupid for standing around. It’s up to you to find your own table. We were about to sit down and a large party took over 2 tables and we were there much longer than they were and several severs saw us waiting and never acknowledged us.
First time there and I’m a fan. The waitress was friendly and attentive, the beer was good and so was the food. I’ll be back the next time I’m in town.
The Nitro Porter beer is delicious as well as the Pumpkin Ale great beer but the food is over priced we got the fried bacon it was mouth watering but it came with 4 pieces of bacon for 7.95… Not worth it. Stick with the beer on happy hour Sunday no food to many good eats near by to over pay.
They make my favorite sandwich in the city!. All I can say is that their buffalo chicken sandwich is wonderful, probably my favorite sandwich in the city. My kids also love coming here because they love the deadhead decor. They have a good selection of beers, and the service is always pleasant.
The service at this place has really gone downhill. Service was never good, but the service now is downright awful. Can’t believe I even left a tip. Will not return.
