The staff here is so attentive and great. The staff has all been around for a while which means they know what they are doing. The menu here is far from bar food. They have a wide variety of options to choose from. They have the best brunch on Sunday’s as well!!! Highly recommend!!!
It was our fault, really. We should have known better than to go to a bar on a Saturday to have fun with a group of friends. I’m ashamed of our collective poor decision making. And playing pool?! What were we thinking? Friends, the highlands tap room is a place for solemn conversations and stern-faced glares at strangers who greet their friends above an acceptable volume. Hearing aids, you know. This is not a place for friends or fun and it is absolutely not a place for drinking. If you’re looking for a good funeral/visitation location, please do consider the highlands tap room. God bless.
Wonderful expirience. The weekend brunch here is too good for being bar food, it’s unbelieveable. The place is actually two separate bars gated together onto one property, but one bar is also a restaurant, you have to order your food there. Lengthy menu too, dinner specials, entrees, snacks, drink specials all the time, an absolutely HUGE beer and bourbon selection, and fully stocked bars. They also have a lot of live music, it’s there most night, along with karaoke. Great service, as always. Check them out if you’re in the highlands! Also, the address is wrong on here. It’s at 1058 bardstown road.
Poor service, mediocre food. Went here on a Saturday evening with a friend from out of town. There was no wait for the table outside, but it was nearly 10 minutes before a waiter arrived to take our drink order. The beer menu is pretty diverse, but the waiter was not helpful in describing some of the lesser known beers (like, he couldn’t even tell me whether it was an ale, lager, etc.), and did not offer to ask the bartender for more information. Unfortunately, the waiter, in general, was one of the more awkward servers I have ever encountered. Anyway, we ordered the deviled eggs for a starter. They were good. I ordered the smoked shrimp scampi for dinner, and it was underwhelming. Lemon butter sauces are usually light and tasty; this one tasted greasy and the butter had separated. My friend had the chicken cordon bleu, and did not have rave reviews of her meal either. And whether it was related or not I can’t confirm, but it’s worth mentioning that I was really quite sick later that evening. Would return here for drinks, but not dinner.
Was there on 3/14 with friends for the st. Patrick’s day parade. Bartender over charged my card by 30$ when I asked to speak with the owners the bartender tried to fight me! The other bartender had to hold him back! I will never go back! Getting my bank involved.Humiliating experience!
Cool atmosphere, great food and attentive server. We took our family there and my kids played pool while we waited for our food.
Good beer selection but don’t waste your time money on the food unless you’re already drunk. Well below average.
