Great deep dish. This is one of the best places for thick crust pizza around town. Super heavy and filling. One of my favorite pizzas.
Amazing Critics. I can’t believe some of the nonsense I read from critics of Imellizzeri’s for their food. If you’ve lived in Louisville for long you know what you’re getting when you go. If you have a problem with service that may be different. If you go downtown when there’s a game or concert smart patrons go early, it’s always a zoo and the service is difficult. In any event this place is Legendary in Louisville. I enjoy their pizza and know what I’m getting when I go. It’s sad people use this service to gripe about this landmark. I know you have the right but you also have the responsibility to be fair, one visit doesn’t tell a complete story. I have no relationship with anyone at this establishment nor do I have any financial investment nor do I know the owners or any employee!Joe Champa
I went to the downtown location tonight and after our waitress brought our salad we never saw her again. The pizza crust was burned and we had to catch the hostess at her station to request that our waitress come refill our drinks. Instead she just brought our bill and when I asked for a refill of unsweetened tea she told me I would have to wait longer because it was being made. So it appears that not only did they have server problems but also kitchen problems. I won’t be back.
5/5. Great pizza, and authentic pizzeria feel
Went in around 3pm on Sunday. Liked the atmosphere and service but was not a big fan of the food. Ordered the stuffed mushrooms (I LOVE shrooms!) but was not impressed. Way to much cheese (didn’t think I’d ever say that), to much butter, sausage was meh – something just wasn’t right about the dish. Ordered the 12inch deluxe as well. It was just ok. I always like to give a restaurant a second try and I think I’d go back to try the Sicilian/deep dish and a different app. Just wasn’t a fan on this trip.
Overly Rated and Over Priced. Was good but certainly not the best as we thought it would be as we had heard in Louisville. The stuffed mushrooms were way too cheesy with not enough sausage and were floating in butter. The breadsticks were okay but not outstanding. The garlic and pizza dipping sauces were outstanding. The edges of the pizza crust were too brown and almost burnt. We like the stringy thick pizza cheese on top of the pizza and not hidden under the toppings.The service was great with the server being very friendly and attentative. The atmosphere was great as well. We definitery agree Bearno’s and Wick’s Pizza is just as good if not better but to each his own.The salad, spaghetti, and meatballs looked delicious. We will return again and perhaps try those dishes.
