Disappointed. After the positive reviews I was very disappointed after ordering take out from El Tapatio. This is not even close to the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Versailles – that title goes to Taqueria Becerra hands down! The enchiladas are bland and don’t taste authentic, the sides are bland, and when I ordered an enchilada dinner I received one small enchilada so tiny that I could barely see it on the plate. The tacos (which my friend had) were also bland and soggy. Taqueria Becerra is where the Mexican locals go, and now I know why. Trust me and give it a try.
We love this place! Service is fast and very friendly, it’s affordable with generous portions, and the food is really good. My husband and brother LOVE the Chori-Pollo!

El Tapatio is excellent. Great food, friendly staff, and great prices. If you come to or through Versailles and want great Mexican food, El Tapatio is the place for you. I love their Chile Rellenos and the Enchiladas Tapatios – you can’t go wrong there!
Best mexican in town. The chicken is all white meat, no onions or peppers in the burrito etc. The staff is always friendly.
Best Tacos I’ve Had. The place is great. Their hard tacos are different than any other I have had. I think the shells are homemade. Fried corn tortillas, maybe. I absolutely love them. Everywhere else that I have had tacos have used a shell not much different than some Old El Paso shells from Kroger. They also make a good chimichanga, burrito, and chili relleno. Decent steaks, as well. Chips and salsa, or course, which are also good. The only three servers I have seen working there in years are great ladies. I highly recommend El Tapatio
