I love Mexican food, and this place is great. I’ve now been there about 5 times, and have not had the problems some of the other reviewers expressed. Simple food, but delicious. I really like their tortas. Worth checking out!
Beware!! We just walked out after over an hour and didn’t even eat our food! We came in with 4 little kids and the food took close to an hour to come. After we watched another family come in, order their food, and promptly received their orders, I asked the waitress about our order. She was rude and short with me and said that they had called in their order. When we finally got our food, it was cold and dried out as though it had been sitting in the kitchen for quite some time. Also, the cook had dumped salt into my husbands burrito. After he took one bite, we got up and left. It was completely inedible and I was concerned about the safety of the food. I am going to contact the health department about it. We honestly felt that did not want to serve non-Hispanic families. We asked the ONE other group that was in the restaurant how their experience went. It was similar to ours. They said that the restaurant is usually much better. We are very disappointed as restaurants like this are usually such a gem to find and have great authentic food.

Outstanding authentic Mexican. Finally! A true quality Mexican in the Lexington/Versailles area that has outstanding food and cheap Mexican beers! Family owned and operated. I ordered from the mix-and-match section (1 beef taco, 2 chicken enchiladas, rice and beans). The rice was perfect and the beans really hit the spot on a really cold windy day.
THE Best in Versailles. My family and I have been coming here since it opened. The food is so fresh, authentic, and delicious. The service is wonderful! I became vegan a year ago and whenever my family goes, they can always eat deliciously and I can too! They even baked lard-free tortilla chips just for me! The tacos are perfect and cheap, there’s free WiFi, the beer is cheap, the salsa is ON POINTE and overall, 5/5 stars. Only complaint is that there’s not much room and one waiter barely speaks english. Other than that, if you’re going to go to one restaurant in Versailles, GO HERE!
Excellent!!!. I have visited Taqueria Becerra several times and also had take out. The food is excellent! Completely authentic, delicious Mexican food. Definitely the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant in Versailles and probably all of central Kentucky. I had to write this review after getting take-out from competing restaurant El Tapatio a few days ago. That place doesn’t even begin to compare to Taqueria Becerra for flavorful, authentic Mexican food.The restaurant itself is small and unassuming but very clean. The selection isn’t as extensive as El Tapatio but is still more than adequate, and the superior quality of the food is well worth it! No wonder this is where the locals go.
Most authentic in Versailles and probably Lexington.. Small mom and pop Mexican restaurant. Usually Mexican natives frequent this place. I like their tortillas, egg and cactus dish, and tamales. I’d highly recommend if you are comfortable with small, hole in the wall places and like authentic Mexican, not the Americanized version. Very clean.
