My favorite restaurant. I live across the country and have visited Alexandria(because of family) a few times and I loved Verona every time. The chicken parmesana was amazing. And the tiramisu was godly! Would recommend to anyone anywhere anytime!
This restaurant is in a downward spiral.The lack of attention to detail, the continuously falling quality, and the desperate attempts at holding customers with gratuitous gifts of desserts and liquor will not be enough to stop this slide. The falling quality is seen in the food, the presentation, the present lack of knowledge of the bar and wait staff and a menu that needed to be updated 10 years ago.At this point, the menu and the quality of food needs a major upgrade. Without it, I predict less & less customers will come here.It has a nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. It has the potential to be a good & busy restaurant if it’s turned around. Otherwise, I don’t give it long.The people of Alexandria–like Louisiana’s—know good quality food from poor. If this restaurant could renew itself it would see an increase in patronage. If it continues along this cost cutting, quality compromising path, I’m afraid it is doomed. The slop I was served tonight made it my last visit here.Sad but true.
Thank you Verona for taking my family and I back home. The food, service, and ambiance was excellent! We read some mixed reviews and chalked it up to the fact that people will generally write a negative review before taking the time to write a positive one. Verona was worth the trip. The prices were very reasonable and competitive, especially considering the amount of food you get. We are a family that eats what is put on our plates and we couldn’t finish our meals. We did save room for dessert of course. The tiramisu and the cannoli were just as authentic and homemade as the rest of our meal. We are looking forward to leftovers and the memories made at Verona. Don’t pass this place up while traveling in and around Alexandria.
Called to place an order to be picked up, was put on hold for 10 mins, hung up on, and the phone stayed busy for 30+ minutes before I gave up. Shame, I had quite the order and wanted a nice Italian picnic with my husband at home.
My kids and I love eating at Veronas! Welcoming staff and great food make for a great experience! I love the manicotti & the lasagna! Definitely the go-to place for a night out with the girls!
The absolute BEST ITALIAN FOOD in Louisiana! Love, love, love this place! I had the Chicken Parmesan tonight as I was craving, and it seems as though it just gets better and better!! Love the owner .. Mr. Tony… He makes you feel like your walking into grandmas house for Sunday dinner!!!Always great service!! Always a hit with the family!
Absolutely delicious, after spending 7 years in Europe I was delightfully surprised to enjoy the authentic taste of Italy. I will definitely make this a regular place for my family.
