Never again. They always screw up my to go order and today I waited for 15 minutes and no one even acknowledged me. About 4 servers just walked by and chit chatted while i sat there.

Mixed feelings. I got mixed feelings from my first visit to Dempsey’s. I liked the atmosphere and the wait staff was nice. I ordered a cup of gumbo and 1/2 a poboy. My GF ordered a fried seafood plate (fish/shrimp). The chicken and andouille gumbo was delicious! It was possibly one of the best gumbos I’ve ever had. All the fried food was cooked properly (not under/over cooked, crispy crust, etc), but desperately needed salt. I was really disappointed with the lack of salt on the seafood, because I loved everything else about the restaurant and had high expectations after eating the gumbo. I know some new restaurants struggle with consistency. I’m going to give them another shot and hope that the lack of salt was a fluke.
Overall this is a good place to eat. Have tried many of the seafood dishes and they were all great. I will have to agree that the burger is not great. It’s definitely not homemade. But my fries have always been awesome. And it’s very kid friendly also. The servers have been very nice and we haven’t had to wait too long for food; but we’ve only been there on week nights.
Lol that review by Brian is funny. There is nothing frozen about the burgers. The French fries are clearly fresh made from real potatoes. Which is very hard to find in a good restaurant these days. The food is incredible the seasoning is spot on. Seemingly it looks like the bad reviews are written by competition nearby who took a minor hit in business when they Dempseys opened up. Anyway. Me and my wife love it. And are extremely glad they moved a location out this way.
I was pleased to see Dempseys open in Prairieville. We tried the new location for lunch today. They offer a fairly large menu with lots of Louisiana specialities. My hubs had the crawfish poboy and I ordered the grilled chicken club. It took about 25 minutes to receive our lunch which seemed a bit lengthy considering we arrived 15 minutes after they opened and there were only 3 other tables occupied. The food was good. Not the best I’ve ever had but certainly not the worse. The fries were tasty and hot. My hubs like his poboy. The seasoning on my chicken club made the sandwich very very salty (and I’m heavy handed on the salt…) but over all we were happy and satisfied. Our server was very friendly and checked on us often and we were greeted immediately upon walking in. We were certainly return.
