This place is always busy, surrounded by lots of cars, and for good reason: the food is great. A lot of variety, and if it’s not on the menu, just ask. They’ll do any combination you want. We had the Cajun eggs benedict. It comes with grits, but we subbed chunky fried potatoes. The classic hollandaise sauce had cajun seasoning (not too much) and tiny shrimp. Instead of an english muffin, they used giant, fluffy, homemade biscuits. The ham was a huge slice, seared on the grill with absoloutely the best flavor I’ve ever had (not too salty) just right. I didn’t try the ultimate Bloody Mary (17.95) but will on another trip. I’m told it’s a meal in itself. The staff was friendly. There was a bit of a wait, about 30 mintues, but there were a LOT of people there. There’s some original art inside, and lots of unique items in the gift shop. Spoke to some folks inside that had been going there since the 90’s. It’s definately got a lot of character, reminds me of Gwennies in Alaska, well worth the trip.
I would have given it a higher rating, because the food is pretty good, but today, I went in and while it was busy, most customers were being served and were happy. I sat there for an hour with a menu in front of me watching others be seated after me, ordering before me, and getting their food, without a waitress showing up at my table at all. I got coffee delivered by an older gentleman (management?) who asked if anybody had been by to take a drink order, and I told him nobody had been by at all. He brought me coffee and went away. I snagged another waitress and asked for some sweetener because my table didn’t have any at all. She brought it and went away. After an hour went by and nobody noticed I still had a big ol’ menu sitting on the table in front of me, I asked another waitress (who, by the way, had been filling salt shakers and such and had to apologize when someone brought out food for one of her tables that she had been unaware of) who my waitress was. Ten more minutes passed, and I got up to leave. Like magic, a waitress was by my side asking me if she could make it right, but by that time it was too late. That was unacceptable, and even though I’ve been happy with them in the past, I would hesitate to go back again, especially on a weekend day when they have more than half their tables filled, because their staff doesn’t know how to handle it.
The service at Frank’s is always fast and friendly. This is a great place for family time! We are happy and full every time we leave! Sit at the bar on a Sunday morning to see how fast the kitchen pumps out food!
Food is fantastic and service second to none. Recommend this place any day. They have made a regular out of me. I had the western omelet, great!
I’ve eaten at the Baton Rouge and liked it. Not so at the Prairieville location. Over cooked, reheated, and just bland. On top of that, the place could use a good cleaning.
