Fairly average as far as Cajun places go. Nice to see that you can get a shrimp stuffed mirliton here. The things that stand out here are the seafood gumbo and dessert cakes which are homemade and worth every penny. Unfortunately they have no soda fountain and you pay dearly by the can for soft drinks and sides like potato salad. Most everything is overpriced on the menu, unfortunately.
Down home food and atmosphere . Great family location
Had a take out order and thought the food was overpriced for what it was (small portions and not really fresh tasting). We’re not from Louisiana but we had better Cajun food when we were there, at Griffin’s and Ignatius. The person who took the take out order was not friendly, either.
Home cooking on the Bayou. Excellent!!!! I live out of town, but will make every effort to eat here every time I visit. Fabulous home cooking. You must try this restaurant- you will not be disappointed.
Absolutely my favorite! The best shrimp and crab gumbo I have ever had in 56 years! We eat there often and everything we have ever had was outstanding.
The roast beef poboy is outstanding! The potato salad was great as well as the carrot cake and the pralines. The service was fast and friendly!
Best Gumbo EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Phenomenal gumbo, just the right balance of spice, flavor, and heart. Also try the petit pois and potato salad; but especially the pecan pie! Best kept secret!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
