Great experience with a group of 10 ! Service was excellent ( Ariel was our watress ) .Good conversation with the guys at the bar that were shucking oysters . All around great time!
The staff was very friendly and the food delicious. The charbroiled oysters are addictive. I also had the oyster salad and oyster shooter.
No more catfish?!. I ordered a seafood platter to go tonight and am extremely disappointed. The online menu has no mention of the fried fish being Swai instead of catfish, so needless to say when I took a bite of the fish I was really confused. I did some online research and apparently they no longer serve any catfish (used to serve local catfish) . I can only assume this is because getting farm raised Swai from overseas is way cheaper. So aside from eating some of the worst tasting fish, the rest of my platter wasnt great either. The shrimp had to have been frozen and not fresh. They were tiny and very tough. The fried oysters were decent. I won’t be going back there again. There are gas stations that serve better seafood than Acme.
It was amazing. Acme oyster house was very good. I disagree with most because it’s often compared too Jubans and any other fine dining restaurants. It a differently misunderstood it’s more on the level of chili in and out dining! My waiter was Colin he was an very enlightening young man. But I understand the fact that everybody can’t be pleased
The McDonalds of Seafood. The food:Stick with the appetizers and the oysters. Our party of three are all from Louisiana, and we promise this is not authentic or fresh Louisiana seafood cuisine. The shrimp in our etouffee looked like canned shrimp, small and tasteless. The etouffee, crab and corn bisque, as well as the gumbo had a congealed consistency, like it was boxed or frozen. This is so far from the original Acme Oyster House experience in New Orleans that I would call it the McDonald’s of Seafood. All fried foods needed fresh oil. The hush puppies had a rancid taste, and oysters were not golden, but had that dark old oil appearance. The sauteed crab claws and the charbroiled oysters were tasty, but everything went downhill after the appetizers and we left full bowls of gumbo, etouffee, and bisque. The service: Our server, Collin, never asked how our food was, though we clearly did not eat our main courses. In fact, I wonder if he had any training at all, considering the poor service. When we talked to the manager, Kenny, about our server, he seemed amused and then we saw him laughing about our over-charged ticket with the incompetent server in the back of house.We should have gone to The Chimes.
Awful. Overpriced. Misleading. It was never like the New Orleans location but now the prices are higher, portions smaller, service mediocre. Worst of all, fish was not catfish, but swai fish which was rubbery and disgusting. Didn’t eat half our meal as a result. We won’t ever be going back.
Roast Beef Poboy. The most delicious food item in this place!
