I had given 5 stars right before being turned away minutes to close. Ive been in industry for 14 years and its never good policy to turn away good customers. Not the best location, Essen traffic is terrible. Clean and Delicious. Fresh. Price and portion friendly. Beautiful food in a great atmosphere. The menu is different and greatly to be appreciated.

Modern, clean and chic dinning where you can actually charge your cell phone while eating. I had both the beef and seafood pho. Both broths where full of flavor and served with fresh basil, jalapeos and been sprouts. Mine had a generous amount of meats. To me the seafood broth tasted better, but I enjoyed them both. Another time i went there I ordered the birds nest and pineapple wontons. The birds nest was recommended by a friend and oh my were they right. So delicious, creamy baked avocado topped with imitation crab meat with sweet and savory sauce. Yum yum. The pineapple wontons was fantastic also. The service was ok. Not bad just not great.

I’m so happy to have a great Vietnamese restaurant so close to me. Great service and food. Definitely try the birds nest appetizer the next time that you go. The broth for their pho is amazing and their togo set up is super convenient too.

After more than a few visits I feel comfortable denoting this as one of my favorite new restaurants in BR. There are plenty of great Vietnamese places in BR, don’t get me wrong, but Ava Street Cafe is both convenient to my work/home and amazingly good. The pho is rich and soothing, the vermicelli is fresh (try it without the noodles for their ‘no carb’ version – so good). The braised pork they feature on the kimchi fries and in most of their dishes is quite possibly the best pork I’ve ever had – a great balance of sweet and savory. Every meal I’ve had has given me enough delicious leftovers for lunch or dinner again the next day, making the already fair prices even more stellar. The staff has always been friendly, the wait is never long, and takeout is always prompt if you choose to get it to-go. Bottom line, their menu takes standard Vietnamese fare and does it well, while adding a few fun options into the mix. They’ve definitely hit their stride, especially with service, since opening, and it shows.

Delicious food, great service, and lovely atmosphere! Had the bird’s nest appetizer which was absolutely delicious – highly recommend it. Loved it! Will be going back soon.
